How is it bad? As a senator your job is too meet with foreign officials, all senators do it. He answered the question, he didnt lie at all

You're being really ridiculous. Meeting in secret and not disclosing it when asked especially when basically everyone involved with Trump was doing the same is bad. I'm done trying to argue with you. You refuse to see any wrongdoing so have fun when Russia takes us over ✌

Actually he didn't. Sessions was asked what he would do if he found out that the Trump campaign was in talks with Russia. Sessions just had to make the question harder for himself and say that he himself didn't have contact with Russian officials as a surrogate or in general. He didn't answer the basic question. It's not that hard to point out. As the possible new AG he was asked what HE would do if this information came to him, not whether or not he had contact with the Russians or not. And as the facts state, he DID have meetings with the Ambassador. And the point that Sessions was a Senator or a Trump Advisor during those meetings is completely irrelevant now because HE LIED UNDER OATH. That is a crime and will face prosecution. 

One of the discussions with the Ambassador at Sessions' office was described as part of an Arms Services Committee meeting even though the rest of the committee had no other contact with the Ambassador. 

Additionally, Sessions met with the Russian Ambassador at the RNC. Sessions was the chairman of Trump’s National Security Advisory Committee during that time. So any excuse of him merely being a Senator meeting with the Ambassador can't be trusted. Especially with multiple people of Trump's campaign who had already met with the Russians.

Also the Wall Street Journal reported that ""Sessions paid for the trip to Cleveland for the convention out of his own political funds, not his official congressional funding, and discussed the Trump campaign, obviously, during his remarks at the Heritage Foundation event where he met with Russian Ambassador Sergei Kislyak. “One person at the Heritage event in Cleveland said Mr. Sessions left the impression he was there because of his role in the Trump campaign,” the Journal reports. “This person said Mr. Sessions’ remarks in part were focused on Mr. Trump’s trade policy, saying the then-candidate would do away with multilateral trade deals.” At the time, Sessions was the chairman of Trump’s National Security Advisory Committee.""

So..

1. Why the hell would a Russian Ambassador be at the RNC?

2. Why would a Russian Ambassador at the RNC be there to talk with Sessions about Armed Services Committee related issues?

3. Why was the Ambassador there when Trump was proposing the most pro-Putin/Russian platform ever?

4. Sessions statement about the meetings was met with more lies from himself. The Washington Post, the publication that released this info, stated that Sessions had only "met" with the Ambassador unlike Sessions' statement that he had not discussed "issues of the campaign". Once again, Sessions is bringing up irrelevant information that only makes him look worse.  What's the truth Sessions? 

5. Sessions was also asked this question at his hearing from Sen. Pat Leahy (D. Vt) stating, "Several of the President-elect’s nominees or senior advisers have Russian ties. Have you been in contact with anyone connected to any part of the Russian government about the 2016 election, either before or after Election Day?" Sessions responded, "No".

6. Sessions CLEARLY lied about his meetings and the intentions of them. He did not disclose this information. You don't forget about multiple meetings with an Ambassador. 

7. An anonymous Trump admin official had told John Hardwood (reporter) that election related discussions were present stating, "superficial comments about election-related news, not substance of their discussion". Whether small or big talking points in their discussions, Sessions and the Ambassador did discuss more than what their jobs were created for.

And maybe he just forgot? I'm paraphrasing a political analyst here: maybe Sessions forgot. Fine. Just like he forgot about his racism and homophobia.

He told a half truth and withheld information, both verbally and on a written form. He gives the appearance of hiding something. He's a lawyer, he knew exactly what he was doing...hiding the truth. At the VERY least, he should have come forward and amended his statement after it was determined that Flynn had contact with the same person to discuss matters of the state. 

This is the top legal representative of the country. He's over the FBI. If he is "forgetting" about meetings, hiding conversations and can't recall a meeting from a couple of months ago, we've got a problem.
