PeterPan 0
#8 HARAJUKU GIRLS 7.63 High Scores: @monsterdino @gagaphrodisy @SychosSoChic @neptugne – 11 @Sizzily – 10 Low Scores: @Craig Barnes – 2 ; @MonsterJames333 - 4 Comments: Spoiler An eclectic new jack swing-meets-synthpop mix, this song notably caused a great deal of controversy for the singer. Critics condemned the song as "racist" and "homoerotic"; Gwen has defended it as an ode to her fascination with Japanese street style. Either way, looking at it as simply a musical number, the song has many interesting hooks and twists. The production is spot-on, and even in today's world where many of yesteryears questionable choices are now exposed as being a bit more problematic in nature than perhaps originally intended, the song is truly a fascinating one. @jujubae A damn bop sis. @sizzily Gwen's obsession with this culture printed on a whole bizzare song. It's kinda silly yet catchy once you get into it. @Dr Evil Very weird and exotic. It includes some verses in japanese (!!). It's an ode to Tokyo's culture, Gwen mentions this girls everywhere on the album, music videos, album cover, fashion line...it's not the best song on the album; maybe it's lenght is too much, and it's so weird it can get annoying some times, but i applaud Gwen for taking the risk. @Mistergaga My personal favorite. I don't care what people say about cultural appropriation because this song literally idolizes and explains Harujuku culture. I love the intro, I love the chorus, I love the beat. @sychosochic
