THIS!

Like I said Gaga blurs the line between her and us in that we don't have a "normal" celeb/fan relationship. She's quite maternal with us and that complicates things a lil bit more. I mean how many celebs openly say "I love you" to their fans? How many embrace them in hugs and affection when they see them? How many have dedicated a whole Super Bowl performance to their fans? We aren't "just" fans to her. We're so much more than that. "What you and I have little monsters isn't just for a moment. It's for LIFE"- Gaga

I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you

exactly. I definitely see her as a mother figure in my life. We all definitely have a very strong bond with us. She has helped and saved sooo many of us. She shares our pain. So of course I'm going to be offended when someone says anything about her.  It's because of my love and admiration and respect for her.

I dont care really anymore. If people don't like her thats their personal opinion. Ill tell them a few good points about her, and such, but if they don't want to be a fan, or like her its not like its going to end me.

The only people that bother me about her is The Chainsmokers, but thats mainly cause their cocky attitude

Exactly. A woman doesn't have to give birth for the instinct to love/protect to kick in. I see it time and time again with the moms at work who have adopted newborns. There was an adoptive mom picking up her new baby a couple weeks ago and one of the other nurses gently went to grab the baby to adjust a clothing item and I thought adoptive mama was gonna rip that nurse's face off. It's quite amazing to watch her go from cooing at her new baby to baring claws and fangs when that nurse got a little too close for comfort. Don't mess with mama bear hahaha.

Girl I've been stanning gaga since 09 I think there becomes a point where you don't care anymore lol there's not one person on this earth that is loved by everyone so just ignore it and gagas image in the gp is way better than what it was during the end of the BTW Era and through the art pop Era

Yeah same, the hermaphrodite mess kinda hurt, but after Bad Romance I just dgaf.

Gaga is polarizing from the start. I learned to ignore it. And if they're complaining about Gaga's skill then they're stupid. Only Beyoncé could be compared or eclipse Gaga. In the same vein that only Gaga could compensate for Beyoncé.

If you're lumping me in with this I never said it never bothered me that's why I mentioned how long I've stanned gaga because it used to but like I said the worse of the backlash is over for her and it really doesn't bother me anymore and also I don't go looking for it like looking at comments and **** so idunno what to tell you if people say that don't like her or her music that's fine I don't like artists either so I get it I also like people and bands that are not popular so gaga not being praises 24/7 doesn't bother me but again if someone is just making fun of her and **** yea that's a different story but no one in those tweets really did that they just said they don't like her

But I never quoted you :duck:

Mister Gaga

Yes, kind off. I don't waste time on the internet (stan wars, twitter); but i do whenever i hear people talking **** about her right in front of my face, without knowing anything. I usually explain her versatility, her vocal talent, i mention her oscar performances, C2C, TIHTY...and i usually succeed. I can't help but defend her, it makes me genuinely angry.

Lol I call it the "reverse mama bear instinct". Instead of gaga leaping to defend us, we leap to defend her. In a way the criticism hurts me because it feels like gaga is a part of me in a way. Call it creepy or whatever you want but she was the first one to accept me for who I was. She saw how broken a lot of us were and she created a home (little monsters) where we could be loved for who we were. Other celebs have a very distinct seperation between them and their fans but with gaga, that line is very blurry because she's quite maternal with us. Our bond has nurtured and grown these past 9 years so yeah I do get upset when people criticize her

Whispering

Only when it is allowed here, in a non-constructive and relentless manner.

Other than that, no.

Only when it's completely off the mark and makes no sense and it's just... bashing somebody for the sake of bashing somebody. But I'm bothered with such criticism for almost everybody because I hold the belief that if you are actually trying to be a good person, you deserve to be heard and helped.

There's been countless arguments by fans about Gaga wearing fur and I feel like I'm in a moral dilemma. On the one hand of course I don't want to support the fur industry and how cruel they treat animals, on the other hand I'm love eating meat and almost all of my shoes are made of leather, along with me appreciating the aesthetic of real fur. I'd feel like a hypocrite criticizing her when I'm no better. Plus I don't even know whether her pieces are newly comissioned or vintage pieces that would have floated around on the market anyways.

I've always said that if one of us ever really honestly truly needed gaga, she would be there in a heartbeat regardless of the distance or hour. Every so often I see little bits of the "mama bear" instinct in gaga. She wants to be close to us and to make sure we're safe. I still think that was the whole point of "come to mama". She'll always have the instinct to want to shield us from everything bad in the world like any good "mama".  Women at work always ask me "I'm adopting a baby and I'm worried that I won't be able to bond with it". I always reassure them that the second that your child is away from you for more than a split second, you'll start getting anxious because having your baby away from you is going against every instinct you have. Biology isn't stupid. A woman doesn't have to give birth for the mama bear instinct to kick in. It's deeply ingrained in our DNA.
