family portrait has always hit home for me. To everyone else, we were the perfect family with 3 kids and a golden retriever but underneath the perfect image laid a lot of secrets. My bio mom was bipolar and incapable of raising my sisters and I. My dad didn't know how to deal with my mom so he spent all of his time at work. "In our family portrait we look pretty happy. Let's play pretend lets act like it comes naturally. I don't wanna split the holidays. I don't want 2 addresses. I don't want a stepbrother anyways and I don't want my mom to have to change her last name". Funny how music mirrors life
