I used to write Bernie off, but after looking at some of his policies, I like a number of his ideas. However, it is hard to support some of his socialist ideas since the US already has a huge government to budget as it is. Perhaps, a little more working across the table may be in order before leading into the midterms. And at the same time, Democrats need to recapture their soul in a sense and be the real voice for struggling Americans of all ethnic groups under the upper class. President Clinton, even with all his faults, understood the economy as the real bread and butter of the country. Along with other social issues, the economy and getting American jobs back has to be the focus going forward. More jobs --> more economic growth --> more effective tax money towards programs for education, environment, and other services social issues important to Democrats... Because Democrats don't "fall in line" like Republicans do. Republicans will vote for Satan, if he has an R by his name. Democrats aren't going to do that. The Tea Party worked because of blind loyalty in the party. This blind loyalty has been giving victories across the country for six years now. Division brought new people into the Republican Party. Division will hurt the Democratic Party. We will continue to lose more seats, especially at the state and local level. You are lucky enough to live in a heavy blue state. Bernie's message of economic justice was reaching out to the (less than) 100,000 voters that lost the electoral college for us. I don't think the message needs to change at all. If anything, more social justice and more economic justice and democratic socialism will energize the base. It didn't resonate with all these people who didn't vote for Clinton and the Dem. platform in the BLUE states where Trump won! We are up against a fascist White House who is actively working to reverse a lot of progress that Democrats have achieved in the last decade. Continue with this divide and we will have him for 8 years. Wake up. If Clinton had won I'd totally be here for a more liberal Dem. party but clearly people are not here for it in the areas Dems. need to win in.
