I mean like, how many people in here ecstatic that Moonlight won actually watched Moonlight?

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

He looks like he has a big ego :lolly:

As someone who has watched 90 Jamie Dornan interviews, I can tell you you cannot find a humbler person in Hollywood than Dornan. He's literally the opposite of ego.

Sorry, but it is true.

Yes, it is true that every single year, people don't agree with the decisions of the voters in almost every category. That doesn't mean that the winners weren't worthy of their win.

Not always, but there have been many years where films and actors are snubbed. I feel like this is one of those cases. Many of the best picture nominations were far better films than Moonlight. But like I've been saying, Moonlight is about a gay black guy, drug addiction, abusive parents, and told over the span of a few decades. It almost reminds me of the episode of American Dad where Roger makes a film about a young, jewish, mentally handicapped guy with cancer, titled "Oscar Gold".

The other nominated films were interesting, thought-provoking, and artfully crafted. Moonlight is pure Oscar bait.

I mean, most people here have only seen La La land, if anything at all.

Let me go look at the nominations....I've seen five of the nine nominated movies.

At least they had the decency to give it to the film that deserved it. Grammys you have some thinking to do.

Again, Moonlight is about the lives of the writers. They are black, grew up in the projects, had crack addicted moms who both had AIDS, (in fact one began writing this story his first year in college, when his Mom died of AIDS related illnesses), didn't know their fathers and one is gay. I'm sorry that you don't believe that people actually live this way, but these two screenwriters were just writing about their lives. Yeah, they had a lot of disadvantages, but they obviously found a way to make it out...and to tell their stories in a meaningful way. Their lives are not some Family guy joke.

Is the background announcement a lady saying La La Land wins best picture is prerecorded when they go up the stage to accept the award?

I always thought it's prerecorded, she sounded like an operator

If it's prerecorded then this is all a stun

Wtf I know it's based on the life of the author, when did I ever say I don't believe that? Just because it's based on a true depressing story STILL doesn't keep it from being Oscar bait and STILL doesn't mean it was a better FILM than the others, which is what the award was for.

Authors, not author.

What do you want people to do? Refrain from writing their stories? Refrain from making movies based on their lives, because their lives are depressing?

It doesn't mean it wasn't, either.

Oh, no, this isn't a discussion about the film itself. The film is fine and I'm happy it was made. We're talking about the Oscsrs here.
