I honestly love La La Land so much and I haven't seen Moonlight (I hope to soon, don't drag me please) but for some reason I still predicted Moonlight would win. I thought the producers coming out and saying La La Land didn't win was a joke at first and then :duck:

Moonlight>>>>>> La La Land

Lala Land is a love story wrapped up in a musical. Moonlight is a love story that covers issues of race, sexuality, poverty, and social class... tied together with some amazing camera work (the first shot of the whole movie is like a minute straight!)

It's stuff like this that makes these snoozefests watchable :lolly:

Can't really weigh in on the choice for Best Film though, I haven't seen any of the nominated movies :emma:

Not that I've watched La La Land, but wasn't it utterly white-washed for a movie that took place in the 50s?

La La Land took place in modern time, not in the 50s

Cookie cutter or not, it was the better film.

You know, you're actually right. It was about  time they showed on screen the budding romance between two white, beautiful people complete with L.A scenery and forgettable songs.

its wasn't Warren's fault after all!

He was given the wrong envelope

Why would anyone blame him anyway? He didn't read the card.

Tonight was the most glorious mess Faye Dunaway has gifted Hollywood since Mommie Dearest. I feel honored to have watched it.

Emma Stone beating Isabelle Huppert is like Taylor Swift beating Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart! Hollywood once again cares mostly about its image!

It's based on two lovers and dreamers. They need to chose between love or dreams. With a 50s musical theme, it has great production design and score. (Opinion) But the story is flat, and the singing and dancing is too basic compared to Hollywood classics.

The people from La La Land were almost done with their speeches and then Oscars producers finally came out frantically saying, "There's been a mistake, La La Land didn't win." I could not believe it, I was actually stunned. :cryga::toofunny:
