GagaMyBlood95 9,915
It's already a proven fact that alcohol has a worse effect on the overall body, than marijuana does. Don't even mention the cigarettes... There are so many other issues, but they choose to do this? Lol wow..
artRaver 3,188
Weed is not physically addictive. If you have an addictive personality though you may get addicted, but a person with addictive personality can also be addicted to gambling, shopping, eating, whatever habit or hobbie they pick up. I personally use cannabis as I am a medical marijuana card holder. It's the only thing that helps with my pain, nausea and other nasty symptoms that come with my chronic conditions. All the medications I've used for my mental illness as well chronic condition has done absolutely nothing, but make me feel like a zombie, I felt like couldn't process my emotions properly at all and just felt like a game piece in life instead of an actual living person who can make their own choices and decisions, having constant nausea and migraine which affected my work performance and many other things. Although, I don't smoke marijuana every day (maybe once or twice of week, when I feel really sick) I use CBD oil for my pain and it has made my life so much easier as a 21 year old instead of feeling like a fragile (physically) piece of sh*t. ✿ cherry blossom girl ✿

What you have to understand though is many people have also had negative/addictive/family issues with drugs too so dismissing their opinion in favour of your own is a little contrary to the message you're trying to convey. How about we all just do and take whatever the **** we want. At the end of the day, some people are against drugs like me, some people are aided by drugs like yourself and some people are indifferent. Maybe then we should just let people choose. I agree too, I totally get that marijuana just isn't for some people and there are people against it. I'm not trying to come across as dismissive against other people for their issues with Marijuana but like @MJHolland said those are personal experiences (as are mine) and do not reflect accurately on what studies have shown about marijuana usage. However there have been many studies that have shown again and again that xanax and other prescription drugs are extremely dangerous and have high abuse potential. http://www.alternet.org/story/154165/is_xanax_dangerous_what's_hype_and_what_are_the_real_threats But yes, I can certainly see that some people may be overly lazy and not do anything under the influence of marijuana, but that is ultimately their choice I believe, some people can choose to be productive while under the influence of marijuana or not. It really depends on the person and how they are, I feel
sillynate 6,170
Spoiler Ooooh I live for the drama that's in the first 5 pages of this thread Spoiler Me, reading all the replies in the first 5 pages Spoiler Me, handing out likes in the first 5 pages My boyfriend is an ex recreational user of marijuana. He was never addicted and he stopped with no problems of withdrawals or anything. He quit because he thought it was too expensive. (Gagas verse on J&D ring a bell? I just got it lol 3 years later) But yeah I think it's silly to go after marijuana users when there's people who use and sell all those hard drugs like heroine or the ones that end in 'amphetamine'

Because I'm guessing you're speaking for experience, so juxtaposed to that my experience is that weed has done nothing at all to the plethora of people I know who smoke it. So I'm curious what a life ruined from weed is.. I've been smoking for about 7 Years daily now and it's definitely had an effect and I would even say I was dependant on it. Marijuana, like any other substance, has the potential to ruin a life; money, mental capability, loss of friendships/family due to smoking alone etc. It definitely has the potential but thats why it needs to be decriminalised and regulated. The hardest thing in this world is to live in it

The average heroin addict today is young, white, suburban and often female; this is not an inner-city poor drug anymore and it's becoming wildly popular everyone. This should terrify everyone. What's causing it? A lot of things, but most studies overwhelming show that it's being driven by the over-persciprtion of opioid painkillers. Medical cannabis is an obvious solution to this problem. And I'd also like to add that the found fathers never intended to make substances like cannabis illega;. That is not the job of the government to regulate harmless plants. The criminalization of cannabis is in every way a racial issue. Black Americans are 8x more likely to be arrested and thrown in jail for non-violent drug possession of cannabis. We have more people in prison that China... CHINA!!! A communist government with over a BILLION people... Let that sink it.... then decide if cannabis should still be illegal. I completely agree, legalizing Medical Marijuana is not just a solution to one problem but several. Also as someone who's literally moving almost 2,000 miles away from home to seek Medical Marijuana treatment I really appreciate you fighting for it in this thread I just wish that more people could realize what it could and will do for the country if we not only legalize it medically but recreationally, and not only that but understand the racist background prohibition of marijuana has had since the beginning. Incarceration rates in America are too f*cking high.

Why would you do the illegal as opposed to the legal if the desired effect can be achieved by means of the latter? Not being insensitive, genuinely curious. Depending on the diagnosis, anti-anxiety medications are FAR more addictive. Other anti-anxiety medicines have serious side affects. There are tons of "legal" medications that are very dangerous. thefamebitch 834
First off people, it's called self control. The entire argument that so many of you continually bring up in regard to alcohol seems like a lot of personal issues that you've experienced A drunk driver decapitated my 8 year old cousin and killed a pregnant woman in a horrific highway accident. My other cousin had to literally watch my younger cousin get crushed to death. Do I think alcohol should be banned over the abuse of a few people, despite losing a family member? No, I don't. I don't think everyone should suffer because of a few terribly irresponsible and reprehensible people.
