Well everything uses earth stuff. Unless u meant without human meddling

and it being 100% natural doesnt mean anything. Theres a lot of natural stuff that will kill u like poisons or lava. Some man-made stuff can be good for us. So i dont get that argument. It doesnt mean anything

Also i dont dispute the origins on why it became banned... i dont know enough about the history to argue about it

But its not a healthy thing for u. Im not sure how comfortable i am with sending a message like its no big deal

We finally got tabbaco users down to a low level after all these decades. Do we really need to make encourage another drug? Regardless of whether or not its as bad

There are no studies to prove it's harmful though. I don't even smoke or like the stuff but it's just one more way for conservative Republicans to keep us down. It was legal for hundreds of years.

Seen to many lives ruined because of it... It should only be available for people who seriously need it for medical purposes, and not to the people who want it just to get "high".

Yeah, my life is totally ruined.. I'm bed ridden 24/7 and only survive on weed and pizza. I crashed a helicopter and took out an entire shopping mall full of innocent high school students lining up at the Sanrio store to meet Hello Kitty.

Yeah let's get the pot smokers and continue to let people die because of overdosing on prescription opioids and heroin. You should see the new study released. New York Times look it up. I'm a nurse and I'm mostly a glorified drug dealer I spend countless hours giving highly addictive narcotics to individuals that have no use for them except to get high and use tax payer dollars to achieve this goal. And yes it is a goal for some people. There is a huge problems in this country and marijuana is NOT one of them.

I literally smoke weed all day every day and have for 10 years. Smoked all through college with my husband and now we both have degrees, I own a company that has made successful mobile apps and he works as a web developer for one of the biggest companies in the US and we did it all high as a kite.

People who say it ruins lives are ignorant. People ruin their own lives and weed has never stopped me in fact it soothes my nerves enough to deal with the GP.

I agree people can become addicted BUT like do you think we should make alcohol illegal too?

i agree, some people have the strength to quit weed if they want , but many aren't strong enough, and tend to use more and more cause they get used to using it. I've seen it too

though...i would rather ban alcohol aswell, from what i've seen alcohol leads more often to violence and aggression while weed only makes you relaxed and lazy ( and addicted)

The Washington Post ran a really great article about this today. I think it'd be really eye-opening for anyone debating this yesterday in the thread to read, if not only for the fact that it's an interesting read. :)

Alright, you're allowed to say this, but until you present actual studies and evidence that shows cannabis can lead to debilitating or harmful addiction, your personal experiences are just that. Personal

We shouldn't be making policy decision because of your personal experience. Especially when there is actual evidence that suggests cannabis legalization leads to decreased heroin and opiod addiction, which totally debunks the "gateway" theory.

I'm so tired of people making these claims that weed is an addictive drug. Weed is not addictive in the way other drugs are addictive. There are literally no physical dependencies made, and coming down from a high isn't bad at all or terrible as it is with other drugs. I smoke for terrible anxiety issues I've had my entire life that have literally made it hard for me to live a normal happy life. I 'lost' over 3 years of my life/growing up due to anxiety. All I did was stay at home, I didn't talk to people, make friends, anything. Medical Marijuana isn't legal here, and that's honestly becoming a clear problem for me, but I'll be moving to somewhere where it is so I can get the treatment that works for me and that others love to discredit. So much money is not made not only off of just Medical Marijuana but Recreational, to take recreational marijuana would literally be so stupid. Trump is a business man, isn't he? Wouldn't it be in his benefit to profit off of weed? Idgi :saladga:

May I ask you what you deem to be the difference between smoking weed and taking anxiety medication is? Why would you do the illegal as opposed to the legal if the desired effect can be achieved by means of the latter?

Not being insensitive, genuinely curious.

I smoke weed for similar issues, for me medication made me a zombie, I lost basically all my personality, I was very apathetic, I had weight fluctuations, suicidal thoughts, the medication had horrible withdrawal symptoms & to top it off it didn't work that well.

I started smoking Marijuana & I not only feel a 100% relief of all my symptoms but I feel like my old self again, I'm able to function, I feel joy & see the beauty in everything for a prolonged period of time + it doesn't have the horrible side effects, withdrawal or addictive properties of traditional medicine

I understand that for some people they'd much rather take anxiety medications and I don't have a problem with that whatsoever, and I encourage them to go for whatever works for them but personally I've had friends and family members get addicted to prescribed medications for anxiety like xanax, valium, klonopin, etc.

Prescribed medications honestly scare me a bit and I just feel more comfortable with marijuana to treat my anxiety. I've had anxiety medication before but it just made me feel, lifeless in a way? I'm not sure. I just don't feel comfortable taking prescribed medication that has high chances for addiction.

I understand totally.

What you have to understand though is many people have also had negative/addictive/family issues with drugs too so dismissing their opinion in favour of your own is a little contrary to the message you're trying to convey.

How about we all just do and take whatever the **** we want. At the end of the day, some people are against drugs like me, some people are aided by drugs like yourself and some people are indifferent. Maybe then we should just let people choose.
