100%. I won't be surprised when he uses the private prison system to line his pockets, though. There's a reason he chose Sessions of all people for AG.

for profit (in other words, the private industry) shouldn't be a thing with prisoners. they will cut corners and mistreat people to make money. it is inhumane. sessions can suck my ****ing ****.

Private prisons means that the companies that own the prisons have an interest in getting more people in prison. They could become a big lobby for higher punishments and harsher laws. Keep in mind that the incarceration rate per 100,000 is already 13 times higher in the US than in Sweden for example.

It will also lead to more focus on 'efficiency' to save money: less prison guards, less surveillance, less humane treatment and less focus on getting people back into society.
