I heard of searching through your belongings for any kind of harmful substances, weapons etc. But why look through people's phones, computers? Cerny 4,270 Posted February 22, 2017 Share Posted February 22, 2017 I think that's kinda common but rarely discussed, it happened to my father in January this year, and last year it happened to me and my wife, two of the security guys took our phones, my iPad and 2 Notebooks we were carrying. They forced us to unlock the devices and after what seemed like 30 minutes of searching for gods knows what, they finally let us pass. Heck, the customs are excempt from the 4th Amendment saying officials need a warrant to go through your private stuff so if they dont like you, they will search you. They DONT need to have a reasonable suspicion. It could be random and if they dont like you.
