Morphine Prince 109,649
President Trump plans to issue a revised version of his temporary travel ban targeting majority-Muslim countries as early as Tuesday, with a likely focus on fewer people so it will survive legal challenges. The new order, according to a draft obtained by the Associated Press, would focus on the same seven countries — Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen — but would only bar entry to those without a visa and who have never entered the United States before. Unlike the original order, people from those countries who already have permanent U.S. residency (green cards) or visas would not face any restrictions. Trump's first attempt to institute the ban last month led to widespread chaos around the world, as foreigners with green cards and visas were detained at U.S. airports and barred from boarding U.S. flights. That executive order was blocked by several federal judges, who ruled it may have violated constitutional protections for legal immigrants. Does that mean refugees won't be accepted (I'm assuming that in American laws, refugees are people without a visa)? Again, why those 7 countries when Egyptians and Saudis were the ones who caused 9/11? I fell down the stairs once as an actor.
FATCAT 60,886
Chances are, they'll be just as unprepared next time, and it will be struck down for this exact same reason. You can't legally implement something unconstitutional. This kitten over here (meow)

baptism 2,670
I mean, this is certainly more palatable than his initial unconstitutional order. I absolutely do not agree with him at all and what he is doing serves absolutely NO real purpose, and I hope over the last month he has been doing some of the investigating and vetting that he said would take him 90/120 days and that the ban is now shorter. It's still all bullshit though.
Luv u Sum 2,534
I'm a big fan of this tbh. The safety of the United States should be his top priority and that's what he's accomplishing.

No matter where you are from, getting a US visa is already very difficult--more so, entering America without a visa is nothing new for anyone from those countries. What this really is is an unconstitutional (and human-rights violating ) ban against Middle-Eastern refugees. Hope to see this ban shot down as quickly and as efficiently as the last one. MonsterPaws 2,745
At least not as many innocent people will be affected, as a college student I've seen a lot of kids not being able to leave for fear of not coming back, and have been separated from their families for months, so I'm glad this addresses that facet of the ban. This is still outrageous though. My main worry are the refugees, and how Trump is basically raising his middle finger to the American constitution. They fear the 'dangers' refugees might bring in when more likely than not these dangers arise from bad integration of these groups into the community. I've met some of these refugees first hand, and they work day and night trying to get their **** together (with a lot of the adults unable to speak English fluently). From trying to find a good place to live to being able to support themselves financially, especially when they're stuck in a limbo where they're relying on refugee benefits, and will immediately lose them if they get a job, so if the job can't financially support them like welfare then they have no choice but to rely on these benefits (which don't last long I believe), only perpetuating the tension. This situation of being helpless can only increase the chances of some of them resorting to illegal side-work which could lead them into trouble, possibly resulting in later antisocial behavior like theft, assault, and possibly even worse cases of violence (all of whom I met [a couple of hundred] are truly kind though; they have that welcoming Arab vibe to them). By restricting those from countries where we have had zero terrorists attacks, and allowing people in from countries that were responsible for 9/11? Makes perfect Trumpster sense. Trump isn't accomplishing jack **** with this EO.

DeleteMyAccount 11,881
No Saudi Arabia? Ok Trump. I'm guessing we'll be banning countries in East Asia? You know... Where Muslims are subjected to genocide. Or maybe ban Russians. Because neo-nazis target LGBTQ. Or even banning Americans from America, considering Americans are why we are in this mess. Hello homophobia. Hello racism. Hello xenophobia. Hello sexism. Hello ablism. Hello hypocrisy.
