Looks like his ARTPOP era is just getting underway

"Last week, for the first time since [Stephen Colbert's] debut in Sept. 2015, the former Colbert Report star and current CBS host topped Jimmy Fallon in total viewers at 2.77 million to 2.76 million.

However, as Variety points out, Fallon is still leading Colbert in the mythological 18-49 demo and Colbert’s surge may have more to do with Fallon stalling out.

The week of Thanksgiving and the ensuing weeks gave Fallon a 3.5 rating, so he’s shed about 740,000 viewers. That steady decline might have something to do with Fallon’s frequently tepid Trump jokes that don’t quite have the same chutzpah that Colbert’s do. We imagine quite a few viewers were turned away by the hair muss heard ‘round the world, as well.

However, Fallon’s take on President Trump’s erratic Thursday press conference did have more teeth than he’s shown in the past. So he may be able to stem the tide, or Colbert will continue to supplant the former SNL performer."

OMG really?

That's so weird cuz i NEVER hear about Stephen Colbert's show. It's always James Corden, Jimmy Fallon and Jimmy Kimmel that I hear about.

I was actually wondering the other day about Colbert's ratings because I was feeling like CBS Late Late night was getting more attention than Colbert's Late Show.

Interesting

His show is so bad. He's like, the worst interviewer ever. He is not an interviewer to begin with, he's a comedian trying to put on a funny show with celebrities. If his show was cancelled it would be good riddance.

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

I prefer Colbert. I couldn't stand Jimmy Fallon on SNL but I know lots of ppl do. I'm still waiting on them to get a female comedian to be permanent host.

Of the "big 3" night shows, Colbert, Fallon and Kimmel...

Kimmel is by far the most entertaining. He's naturally funny and doesn't have to try as hard as others to bee funny

Interesting

Colbert's hosting and interviewing abilities are miles ahead of Jimmy's :madge: All Jimmy does is invite celebs over to take snapchat selfies

Fallon tries too hard imo.

The thing that annoys me about him the most is his fake laugh and the tendency to go OTT on jokes that are not THAT funny.

In my messy era.
