at the beginning I was always hearing "this", which makes more sense to me, but then Gaga posted part of the lyrics and I was really surprised it was "his". My ex tried to convince me that the booklet has always mistakes, which I don't believe, especially in this case, but I still need an explanation... :trollga:

Honestly i'm so confused.

"If I had a highway i would run for the hills, if you could find a driveway id forever be still" <-- the reference is driving so being still on a driveway totally makes sense what does 'dry way' even mean?!

When this song first came out (and up until like yesterday) I thought MR was an Ode to her career,  you know how she said she didn't want to make pop music anymore, I though this was the song that explained that period of her life (You're giving me a million reasons to quit the show) like she had been given so many reasons to quit pop but she just wanted that one good reason to stick it out. She also said that she wouldn't and hasnt used her relationship with Taylor as inspo in a song after PI came out so that reaffirmed my belief that the song was about her career and not about her break up. Worn out leather was her old image and again made sense in my head because that's when the Joanne pink hat imagery really started (which is the like the opposite of the old leather TFM/BTW look) so yeah, I confess I am lost in the age of Mandela.

This! I thought this line was about her career/Taylor. "If I had a highway, I would run for the hills" meaning sometimes when she's on tour/on the road/working she just wants to run away from it all. "If you could find a driveway, I'd forever be still"- Whenever Taylor is ready to settle down (and own a house together), she'll drop it all to be with him

I swear, someone tweeted the lyrics with "Driveway" and she responded by saying this

Unfortunately that account is private now

The "Mandela effect" is meant to be about something real that's been forgotten.

In this case, it would be more accurate to call it a "Berenstein/Berenstain Bears" effect, where (apparently) a lot of people thought something was one way, when really, it was always the other way.
