Jakarta show officially cancelled

Deeply saddened. I hope she schedules more dates to make up for this. Didn't sTroy say recently that she was going to India with this tour? Wonder why it wasn't included on the Asian leg? It would seem weird to go back when she's already toured the continent.

Here's hoping that this awful group is disbanded soon as they become an increasing nusciance to foreigners and are hurting the Indonesian tourist trade and Indonesia's overall image. I have to wonder if Gaga released an album in the future where she did a complete 180, (covered herself up, no more "dark" imagery" and sang songs to do with God, hope and love), if the FPI would be fine with her performing there all of a sudden? Or if she'll always get trouble from them by going there? It's absolutely ludicrous that they get away with threatening innocent tourists coming to the country for a short visit. If Gaga ever decides to come back to Indonesia, here's hoping that the police take no prisoners this time around.

It's sad but in some countries, there are basic values that rule whether they original from religion or from traditions and they just accept nobody that is from a different background, specially those with obvious effects on people that might "change" them.

I'm a Muslim myself and the first basic verses we learn states something like: "You have your religion and I have mine" which means "You have your ways and I have mine and we both live in peace" so this isn't something Islamic even though Islam did talk about covering your body ...etc. but I guess it has to do with traditions there rather than religion itself.

Those countries are like a whole group rather than a country like the UK or the USA or iRAQ or Lebanon with different religions, backgrounds and ways of thinking, they always tend to keep everything in one line so it's actually impossible for them to accept someone with totally different behaviors to come into their country and according to them "Might change and encourage people to rebel against the traditions they preserve".

I guess, but even so, I thought the permit needed to perform the show came from the national police, not the regional ones so there would probably still be a problem to get a permit without censoring the show.
