I can't believe The Fame Monster didn't have 5 singles. Dance In The Dark should have had a WW release after it was replaced with Alejandro, and Monster would have literally been her next #1. Idk why they didn't drag out that era as much as they could considering her insane success.

ikr :saladga:

look at rihanna and katy milking their eras everytime

that era could have even more singles, TFM was full of hits

I think Gaga didn't know how to handle the world tour AND dragging out an successful era simultaneously any longer. She had been on tour since TFM came out. Back in 2009/2010 she also had bad bulimia relapses/self-hurting episodes, so it must have taken a toll on her. I think the "fight" with her label about Dance in the Dark/Alejandro was more about ending the era than the actual single choice. I feel like she wanted to end the era prematurely to hibernate and recharge.

She's been through so much :rip:

I wish I could relive the experience of Lady Gaga but I was only 9 back then, I thought she was just a singer .

I was pretty young-- Im in my 20s now. But yeah she used to get made fun of to her face and mocked all of the time in interviews. The "shade" she gets now is nothing vs what she used to deal with,  but back then she wasn't big enough with her success to brush it off as easily

Don't you think maybe they are the same thing? Love and attention?

ARTPOP was full of hits too tbh even though I hated that era. Gypsy, MANiCURE, Sexxx Dreams, DWUW, Applause. That's 5 right there.

Joanne really only has MR. Maybe AYO will be a moderate success if we are lucky. But it's a good album so props to her

Yeah she used to cut herself and go through really bad phases of clearly starving herself or barely eating

Not sure if you can see anymore but years ago you could still see the scars on her wrists when she'd be out and about

I knew that during the Monster Ball she was hospitalised for her eating disorder like 3 or 4 times in just a couple of months but I had no idea she used to cut herself...

I remember it like yesterday, when she said she fell down the stage flat on her face during the Much Music Awards rehearsals in 2009 and her first thought about it was "Finally I have an excuse for a nose-job"

They made her feel like sh*t for so long. :(

I like how it's a subtle attack on white privilege tbh

this... like I never thought of that "commercialism" interpretation someone brought up... and I also think it's not just white privilege, it's the privilege of modern day liberals and democrats who don't live in poverty... like the lyrics really speak to me and I don't even like Katy

OT: Angel Down (Work Tape), the next single, will reach top 10 and stay there for 150 consecutive weeks
