It was the best selling debut single for a woman in 2016 and it was never discounted. It has sold over 1 Million copies at full price. If it only did top ten it's also because it was only available for streaming on TIDAL and she was a guest performer at the SB not the headliner during that year. The song didn't actually reach top ten until May. If anything the actual sales of MR and Formation the week of the SB were practically identical except Formation was not discounted. I do agree about what would have happened if MR were the lead single.
