That's absurd their not racist she won over 20 grammys lol

To be fair, she's only won one Grammy award from a general category a la SOTY with Single Ladies, almost every other award came from R&B and rap categories. It's like saying you're good enough to win amongst your peers but don't ever think you're work will be viewed as above that of your white counterparts. Now am I saying she lost because of racism, I don't know. But it's not hard to see where the feelings are coming from.

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

I can understand how Hello could win against Formation for SOTY and ROTY (although I don't agree), but 25 winning over Lemonade was unconceivable. Say what you want but 25 did not nearly have the same impact Lemonade had. Maybe 25 sold more and created more hits, but Lemonade is not just an album, it's a goddamn brilliant masterpiece and experience that takes the listener on a truly heartbreaking and eye-opening adventure.

Sorry for the rant, I had to get this out of my system.

I don't really like the album much at all tbh. I listened several times, but it does nothing for me.

Bette Davis

They were both equally deserving and I hate that Beyoncé's psycho fans are going to trash Adele and ruin this moment for her.

25 is soul written true music, and I believe it is Album of the Year. On the other hand, Lemonade is a great album, but filled with too many samples and isn’t written with soul. I see the whole album as a scheme to make money and get acclaim

Agreed. Lemonade seemed much more calculated than 25, and without the visuals, I wouldn't think very highly of Lemonade, though it is Beyoncé at her best. Overall, it is a good album, but it's just that in my opinion. 25, on the other hand, is great music. It's the type of album that's timeless, and none of the emotions within the album feel forced whatsoever. It doesn't rely on anything other than what was recorded. In this case, I feel the Grammy's made the right decision. :golfclap:

Self titled was so much better than Lemonade

I guess it's not for everyone. Personally, it blew my mind and it was objectively seen as being better than 25 (Lemonade got a 92 on Metacritic, making it one of the highest rated albums of all time, while 25 was in the 70s) and it had a much bigger impact on culture in general, so seeing it lose the award was a big shock.

Definately not for everyone. I gave it several listens. So u can't say I'm judging without hearing it. I did many times. I just truly can't stand it. Most of the songs I find very annoying. I played it for my best friend to. She hated it even more.

Mario Salas

Can you all please get Beyoncé off the pedestal, she already made herself look hideous pretending she was Mother Mary, her album was great but Adele's was superior, It has nothing to do with racism. I am so done with these threads.

Exactly. I think Bey fans think everyone else loves her. It's hilarious. She was good until 4/ then she just became over rated

To be fair, I'm known to be into more basic music around here so. That should say alot.

Here we go with the color excuses again.  How many GRAMMYs do Kanye, Jay Z and Bey all have? C'mon don't be ridiculous.

Not trying to argue with you but the whole point is that artists of color get locked out of the big 4/ major awards. They are awarded in the urban/r&b/hip-hop/rap categories where they compete with other black artists/ of color but when they are up for a mainstream award, they tend to be snubbed
