Gaga could have moved her mic over to share, that would have been quick thinking, but you cant really expect that because the mic could start working at any moment. Too bad this happened because otherwise it would have been good.

Yeah, exactly. It's hard to anticipate things in the moment. As you said, Gaga could have quickly grabbed her mic and run over to James to try and salvage things, but neither of them knew when, or if, his mic would come back on. He just kept going until it got fixed. Before her first line, Gaga was probably thinking "oh ****" and hoping to god hers would be on.

When Gaga gets asked back to do the Grammys again she should have Metallica guest and do Enter Sandman. Turn a negative into a positive.

Terrible I feel bad for Metalica. It looks like they thought it was Feat. Metalica when its actually Feat. Gaga. Shame on them.

I thought thats what Metallica fans would think, even though its not her fault, but they dont seem to be blaming her at all which is good. Normally is those circumstances you just wait and figure technicians will fix it.

I'm just disappointed. It could have been epic. I really wish there weren't any technical issues. I agree that Laverne should have introduced it as Metallica with guest Lady Gaga. It was their song. But I think they did their best with what they were given.

HEARTSTOP

I can't at people saying she didn't share the mic in the beginning to make herself look better...do you even know how live performances work? When you're on top of a stage with all these loud instruments and croud around you, you can't hear anything. Gaga had no idea his mic wasn't working because all she could hear was the noise around her, and her own voice coming from her earpiece (to keep herself in tune). The only people who knew his mic was off were the people watching and himself (through his own earpiece).

When he came over, she realized what was going on and made the mic sharing a part of her performance.

She did not share it initially, James had to come near Gags, and even when she was holding the mic, it was always closer to her mouth. Gags out rocked James when his mic was on too, all mishaps favored Gaga, moreover she stole their show. I could be kinda mad at Gaga if I was James.

I mean think this: if Gaga was joined by Halsey(a relatively new artist just like Gaga is to Metallica), in a similar situation monsters would rip Halsey apart on twitter.

But this could turn out really bad too, some kinda Gaga saved performance, also The part Gaga empowered James voice I guess goes to her high Octava singing compared to James, I really don't know.

grammys treat rock and metal like sh*t...im not surprised this happened. but gaga was great and I'm glad they figured out a way to make the performance work despite all the errors

I feel bad for them too, to be honest they should have been credited as much as Gaga did...after all the song they performed was theirs:oprah:

But for sure Gaga did deliver the goods:gaysia:

Or Gaga may have been able to hear his voice. As we saw in the CBS video, his voice was coming through just not getting broadcast. Unless they dubbed his voice over in the video. I dont know.

New theory! Censorship!

Grammys didn't approve BLACKED OUT, POP QUEEN, AMPHETAMINE lyrics. :oprah:

(I saw this comment somewhere on FB)

New videos with mic working could be just edited.

The Grammys have always been disrespectful to rock stars with BS like this.  I love Gaga, and I loved the performance despite all of the crap that went down, but damn. Metallica deserves so much more respect than this.  Heavy metal is a genre that deserves more respect than this, too.

I'm a fan of Nine Inch Nails as well, and Trent Reznor has kind of become notorious for always calling the Grammys out, for several reasons.  Well, a few years ago, NIN, Queens of the Stone Age, and Dave Grohl were supposed to perform together at the very end of the show.  Unbeknownst to them, though, the Grammys played the credits over their performance and cut the live feed off.  I remember Reznor completely losing his s*** on social media once he found out what had happened, and I don't blame him!

So yeah ... The Grammys have always done this kind of foul play against older rock stars, which is beyond bogus.
