I couldn't really see because I watched a recording of a LQ TV screen, but the visuals made me dizzy (it was so LQ it was practically a blue and white blur) but her voice was decent

The set and the use of the stage was majorly impressive. The flashing of the declaration of independence at the end was also kind of neat. Katy herself, however, proved once again she has no vocal ability. I don't really remember her, just the cool rotating set and all the people behind the scenes making it rotate and shift around.

The rotating set was cool, but it was also kind of useless. Like, they should have done something more interesting with it to make the performance stand out. It kind of just seemed like it was there and Katy was just dancing and singing on it, rather than it having a purpose. They could have projected more onto it, or had it mechanically/manually change shape more as it rotated. That would have been super cool.

I agree, they could have likely done more with it. I think it was the way it was for a specific purpose - the 'white picket fence' in the middle class american family turning into shards of glass so you can examine your reflection and your thoughts, turning into the declaration of independence at the end. As for why it rotated, it was probably just so they could get all the changes done to the set without constantly being in Katy's face as they were doing it. All the people in costume frantically out of sight of the camera quickly changing things around deserve props.

Judas Society

I think she had great ideas and really did her best to perform it without lip syncing. But the execution could be further fine-tuned. I applaud her for not lip syncing this time.

I'm kinda feeling bad for Katy. This performance obviously wasn't the best.

Unrelated, when she said CTTR had more 'subtext' than her other songs...

I immediately started singing ARTPOP.:toofunny:

Tonight's performances were heavy on live vocals, she was up against monsters (Beyoncé, Adele, Gaga, Ron Weasley with the guitar, etc) Katy's "vocals" wont stand up in 2017.

Apart of me wonders how artists with lackluster vocals can make it... I just don't get it.
