I have a feeling she'll go more for the House trend since that's still big in Europe (especially here in the U.K.) and since the multi genre mess on the American charts is a bit much. I'm actually excited

"Chained To the Rhythm" is a dancehall song with steel drums, and that style originates from Jamaica.  The inclusion of Skip Marley, a Jamaican in origin, I think further pushes that idea.

Yall know it can be v pop, v dance and also v different right? It can be catchy and radio friendly but still create new trends... I think Lorde is much smarter than just releasing  an album of island beats....

Her latest single is a synthpop song with minor disco influences not at all related to the current trend tbh

"It is a dancehall and disco song that contains a mid-tempo beat.[6][7] The track contains "slap bass" with elements of electric guitar and synths."

Chaine To The Rhythm has nothing to do with Jamaican or Tropical sounds , It's French Italian Disco.

It has dancehall-jamaican influenced on it. So yeah it's tropical. In fact, Skip Marley featured as well
