It wasn't in a negative way though, in fact it was very positive.

I loved this, especially her comment about how sometimes the messages aren't for everybody. A very thoughtful review.

No matter gay straight or bi, lesbian, transgender life, I'm on the right track baby I was born to survive. No matter black, white or beige, chola or orient made, I'm on the right track baby, I was born to be brave.

Sing that in a cis straight white male sporting event and it's not political? Bruh.

Also the cheeky reminder of what America should be in the beginning. You missed that or you deaf henny?

Whoopi bathed them with hot tea :golfclap:

What irks me the most is that many people who are complaining are comparing her to Beyoncé as if she was the ultimate social justice warrior.

Apart from BLM Beyoncé has never been very vocal about any other social issue. If they want to compare Gaga to someone who is always political they should compare her to Madonna who has actually being vocal about social injustice even when it doesn't affect her.

How are people not getting the message from her Super Bowl performance? It couldn't be more obvious :grr:

I just DO NOT UNDERSTAND how her political message during the halftime went over a lot of people's heads. Is her opening God Bless America/This Land is Our Land not "out there" enough? Is Born This Way not political enough, especially in the current climate in the US? Some people just like to take stan culture to more important things, such as politics, that they dumb themselves down to prove that their faves "outdid" :madge:

Maybe she can look at the many public statements she made about inclusiveness before the performance so she can take a seat.

Honestly, there's a time and place for everything and if she wanted to use the performance to get many people to come together to agree they enjoy the same thing for once, then I say finally someone could do it!

Can someone offer me their interpretation of "the messages aren't for everybody"? I have a blunt, general understanding of it but I feel like there's more to it that I'm not able to elaborate on myself and it's bothering me. :rip:

I think she meant that the subliminal message was to stay strong to the young LGBT community, when Born This Way came on, I was like yep, this is for us in defiance of Trump. I think Whoopi is saying that the target for her message was not entitled middle aged women so maybe the message went over these ladies' heads.

This is what I'd figured. I don't know why, I just feel like there's more (when there probably isn't). I think it's just been a long day for me. :rip:

But thank you for your response, the bolded section made me laugh. :giggle:

Queen Whoopi lowkey shading her guests on the show while sitting right next to them. She was basically telling that lady "Yeah, you didn't get it because it wasn't for you." And she's right.

Technically, everyone else us (just not out loud). Whoopi just poured that hot tea all over those political-drama-thirsty bitches :tea:
