Is this a widespread issue? Also how long has this been happening?

As a programmer, this is a bit of a strange thing to happen but unless it happens to many people over a day or two I wouldn't say it's sabotage. They might be having problems with their search database.

With regards to ONLY lady gaga, troye carter's ex-client? :sure:

Does anyone know about antitrust law? Isn't this anti-competitive behavior? What can we do, legally speaking? I think getting proof now is key. The law in this area I'd imagine is not well developed due to the fact that streaming services are relatively recent. However, in america a rule of reason approach is used so if the behavior is deemed anti-competitive even if it's not per say illegal action can be taken.

Interesting articles:

http://bgr.com/2016/08/26/spotify-vs-apple-music-exclusives-frank-ocean-drake/

A quote from the first:

"Spotify has been retaliating against musicians who introduce new material exclusively on rival Apple Music by making their songs harder to find, according to people familiar with the strategy."

Not sure how much the apple rivalry plays into what's happening to gaga, however for me the bold sections of the quote are key.

Hoping someone who knows about law/anti-trust law can provide some insight, in regards to any action we can take?

I don't think anything yet, sadly. The streaming business is too early for the government to get involved, and even then they need to have 90%+ of an entire market and few competitors. Since YouTube, Pandora, SoundCloud, Apple Music, Tidal, Google Music, etc. all are competitors offering streaming music, there's enough competition to go around.

Bloop, well they have a reason to now

John Wayne is apple exclusive so Spotify can be as salty as they want, unfortunately :madge:

Are there any music videos on Spotify even? I don't remember so, it's one of the reasons why i went with Apple Music.

Yeah, but if spotify has relatively large market share then HHI in the industry will be high, compared to if all firms had the same share. Look up the HHI. I am not too sure about how large its market share is but given it offers a free service I'd imagine it's high, relatively speaking.

This is so true, I have friends who work for Spotify, Apple Music, Pandora etc... and there is a lot of politics involved behind the scenes as to who gets onto the weekly playlists... promoted etc...

Message @SpotifyCares and tell em about this injustice. for those of you who can contact bobby do so as well! Every voice helps.  Girls get on it @Admin @Haroon

Everyone who has a twitter should @ INTERSCOPE, Spotifycares, Spotify, Billboard about the situation, dont forget to mention troy carter.

NOW IS THE TIME SINCE THE WHOLE WORLD IS SEARCHING FOR HER MUSIC!

I feel like so many remixes of her songs exist, that are also popular, are why they show up like that, like Sultan's Edge of Glory remix (Judas alone has a crap ton). Might be an algorithm issue but I don't think it's sabotage.

Anyway, if I can't find a song I just go directly to the artist's page and look there. Doesn't always work though because I couldn't find M83's "I Need You" for the longest time in their own damn library and I had to go to the actual soundtrack just to listen to it.

If anything, it seems corporations pay attention when they start losing money, so if people think this is what Spotify is really up to, then cease subscriptions to them entirely and go with competitors like Apple or Tidal (although I hate both).

Yeah they pay attention if they lose money. There are many ways to make that happen. You suggested one, in not using the service. I suggest bobby hires an antitrust lawyer with all the SB coins and sues spotify. You could argue, providing this is  proved intentional, they are damaging the quality of service for consumers in an attempt to increase their market power and ultimately profit. The law in this market is new, precedents will be set at some point.
