I loved her performance, but there's something inherently disappointing

I absolutely loved the show last night! Her vocals were flawless, and it felt like such a huge event. She slayed it.

However, I'm not too happy about the setlist. It felt too retrospective to the very early years of her career. I find it odd that all of the songs bar Million Reasons (which has already been promoted the **** out of) came from the first three years of career.

It kind of just feels like she reinforced the idea/perception that LG is past her peak/not mainstream anymore? She's trying to move forward, and she seemed to kind of stay true to the 'stripped back' feel last night, but all this felt like was that she was watering down her former aesthetics if you know what I mean?

Personally I'd have loved to have seen TEOG, Applause and PI! Telephone was definitely unnecessary.

Disclaimer: I am NOT slamming the performance! She was fantastic. Just thinking about the idea of it.

She'd have more criticisms if she paid dust to her hits trust me. This dwindling fanbase cant keep her career afloat forever

You need to understand that most of the people watching only knew Poker Face, Bad Romance, etc. and have no idea of what a perfect illusion is

Its a Halftime show, its going to mainly consist of her major hits. The songs she performed were bigger than TEOG and Applause and PI. 

The audience is typically only going to know her biggest hits, the people I was watching with said that they would prefer if she played those and she did. She was smart.

I'm not tolerating these threads for the next few years to come. 

It has been stated over and over that it isn't a Lady Gaga concert. Fans barely make up a quarter of the audience.

I totally get you. Needed some more recent material. It's cool tho I'm still satisfied and my wig is still thoroughly snatched. Although there won't be a next time at least thats why we have tours that brings us truly career-spanning performances

I thought the same too... but as fans we like her not-so-popular songs and you have to remember she is performing to an audience of 120M, a lot of which hadn't even heard "Perfect Illusion". 

She basically did her highest selling songs (which makes sense as to why she did telephone), and then her current single. It makes sense in this context, for the tour she will play more fan favourites.

Like it or not the first three years of her career were her most succesful and that's what the public knows her for.

A TEOG lyric was sung in the intro medley. Applause and PI were not there but honestly the show was great anyway. Telephone was a massive hit, I'm sure the public loved it.

I heard a rumour that Million Reasons was originally gonna be You and I. Idk the tea on that but I can only imagine that it would've been amazing if that was the case  Anyway, I'm completely fine and happy with the performance we got, I cant remember the last time it felt so awesome to be a little monster tbh
