DeanWinchester 41,390
DISCLAIMER: I'm not trying to be clickbaity here. I'm just using basically what the sourced article used as a title. "Muted" was used in a non-literal way of turning her mic/feed off. This journalist seems to think Gaga was deliberately prevented from talking against Trump. Few entertainers have been more outspoken against President Donald Trump than Lady Gaga. Few have been more willing to crusade against bullying and for LGBT rights. Yet not once during a 20-minute Q&A was she asked about America's new president. Not once was the word "Trump" heard. Her social conscience was explored only toe deep and mostly by her own introduction. So what did the NFL do? It clearly handpicked the questioners, virtually assuring Lady Gaga would go into no or little depth about matters of great passion to her. The New York Times had taken pains this week to demonstrate the transcript omissions from team interviews of any questions about Trump or Goodell's relationship with the Patriots. A form of censorship has slipped into Super Bowl week, needless, unseemly. There was no shortage of reporters who wanted to ask about Trump and what her message might be during the biggest sporting event in America — and never got a chance to ask. littlepotter 75,146
I have the feeling she simply just wants to enjoy her moment without having to be asked about ****ing Trump (remember when an interviewer asked her about him and she looked him dead in the eye and said 'I have nothing to say of him'). We all know it has been a long time since all eyes were on her. chaeri pls

Hurem 17,800
There's no place for mentiong Trump at the press conference for the performance of your life. And even though she did not mention Trump, she clearly sent her message about love, equality, etc. anyways.

Everyone's rights. Trump's attitudes are not worth to be mentioned in a Lady Gaga speech. A Star is Born ⭐
Red 97,987
And then 5 minutes later she goes live on NFL and randomly says "I prefer bridges to walls" in a completely unrelated question If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating. Americano 31,061
I doubt she wants her career-defining moment to be remembered for controversy around a bigoted president. People already know where she stands.
venusfly 17,885
Good.... it wouldn't be courteous of her to drag the NFL/Pepsi/heaps of other companies into a political mess. She can campaign all she wants as hard as she wants when shes not dragging companies into it with her.

PR employees protecting the public relations of their employer... it's not Gaga's place to give the NFL a stance in politics.
