Beyonce's halftime was one of the best halftimes based on her singing and dancing alone. It didn't need visuals at all even though she had some (floor screens, screens that came up from the floor of the stage)

Katy's was good visually but somewhat tacky with the cartoon characters  + Madonna's was just a mess from start to finish (the obvious lip syncing, nearly falling twice, LMFAO, shuffling, that god awful Gimme All Your Luvin performance and the random adding of Cee-Lo Green at the end). The only visuals Madonna had was when the transition went from Vogue to Music and that was the projections on the floor.

Beyonce's was good but not as entertaining as the other's. Katy's was great, yes, it was kind of immature but it was a visual spectacle and Dark Horse alone slayed most of Bey's show. Madonna's was a mess because of all of those things you said, but with a better setlist and without the awful guest it could have been 100x better than Beyonce's, because just in the visual aspect it destroyed it.
