Beyonce Will Perform at 2017 Grammys

I thought we already knew this. I mean, she's obviously getting Album of The Year among other awards. I wouldn't be surprised if she also gives birth on stage and they make it a movie and wins an Oscar next year.

This is celebrities we're talking about here, not members of the public who aren't asking to be judged. If you want to become famous, you have to deal with the negativity that comes with it.

But that's just the thing - Beyonce's albums have always been very average at best, to me. And they have to many others. So we critique because we think she's overrated. Her videos in particular are certainly not worth watching with only a few exceptions.

No, if it was Gaga doing this, I wouldn't be praising her. I'd be asking why this new stuff isn't as good as her old stuff.

Beyonce fans could say the same thing about the affection you lavish on her. "WE GET IT!" tends to be our battle cry. But you have the right to admire her. So we in turn, should have the right to dislike her. It's only fair. Or do you think only positivity is welcome in any situation?

I'd question if they should be having kids after he cheated on her. I don't agree with bandaid babies. If she's got 3 kids to look after, there's a chance Jay could cheat again. It's very common for men to do this after becoming fathers and their partner spends increasing amount of time with their children and neglects him.

It's not her fault that she was scheduled to perform, but she could have waited until after that was all over to announce her pregnancy. She announced the last one at the end of a performance, after all.

I don't have a problem with her performing necessarily. I just don't want her to be given the special treatment of singing another medley, giving her more promotion than anyone else. She should just sing one song, like everyone else. But she over-promotes, to ensure that the show's attention stays firmly on her.

She engineers her media coverage. She plans things so that she gets ultimate coverage. She waits until other news dies down or just before another big event happens so she can be the big talking point. You really think she doesn't ask for all this attention? She makes sure she gets it by timing and media manipulation. Of course I have faith in Gaga to perform well, I just don't want Beyonce taking the shine off her because whenever Beyonce enters the room, the media crows that she 'stole the show' and she's all everyone focuses on. That's why I don't want her guesting with Gaga at the SB because the media will twist things to make you believe that she upstaged her even if she didn't. Everything's got to be all about Beyonce and I'm sick of it.

Well, you're one of few fans who feel like they could wait. I know most of them will not be pleased if she takes 4+ years to come out with something new. Be prepared for her to lose some of her relevancy in that time.

Well, you're allowed to be a fan of her just as I'm allowed to dislike her. Maybe some of my comments are a bit much but I only say them because I want to voice what so many others are thinking, telling them about the perfection of illusion that so many of these celebrities want you to believe. When Kanye rants and raves, I really know how he feels sometimes.

By all appearances, Gaga and Taylor were as strong as ever before they announced their breakup. At the end of the day we know nothing about these people, they still have personal lives. 

Like this is a woman who made an entire album with collaboration and filmed a music video for every single song and kept it all a secret VERY well, yet some people think they know what's going on in her marriage and in her personal life enough to judge the sh*t out of her?

It's fine if you think Beyonce is overrate, but don't smear her name just because you feel like your fav is threatened in anyway, because that is what this comes down to. If you didn't feel threatened, you'd be happy for Beyonce's success. There is no reason why we can't applaud the success of a strong black female artist unless for some reason you feel threatened.

And I think it would be a smart idea to not come for Beyonce's talent. There are very few people who can sing AND dance as well as her, even if you think it's "repetitive"(?). 

We should cut her some slack; after all, Gaga's dancing has been nothing to write home about since 2011.

When other artists are having a successful moment we should be happy for them, it's good karma to pay forward.

Kanye seemed to cut almost all ties with him post-marriage except for Tidal related business purposes. Beyonce and Jay never attended the wedding. They hardly ever sit together at award shows and Beyonce is never seated next to Kim. Kanye admitted on stage that Jay doesn't talk to him anymore, not even after the Paris robbery. He also said that Beyonce said that she wouldn't attend the MTV awards unless she won over his video and he was banned from debuting his new video at the awards because the night was made to be all about her. Kanye went to the wall for Beyonce in the past, so if he's saying all this stuff against her now, it must be true. Beyonce and Jay are all about appearances, they refuse to associate with anyone who they think is beneath them and they clearly think Kanye is trash by association because he married Kim.

Well, considering that Beyonce gave us information about her relationship by saying that Jay had cheated and she was ready to leave him, I think we are entitled to make comments about the state of her marriage. She shouldn't be putting information out there if she doesn't want us to draw conclusions about it.

I always think "This will be the information that makes her fans think differently," but no, they just find a way to excuse everything. I don't know about you, but if an artist has a personality I don't like or does things against other artists, it makes me not want to be a fan of them. I've been seeing these issues in Beyonce for years and it was why I could never take to her. Right back when she quit DC as soon as her solo career took off (and then I found out about how the other girls got kicked out the group and how cold she was towards them), I never liked her as a person. And that permanently altered how much I respected her as an artist. I've said good things about her before. I applaud her when she deserves it. But if I don't think she does, it's not happening. It annoys me when she threatens to overshadow my fave (who I think is more talented and makes better music) with sub-par material and the same old thing. You wouldn't like it if Beyonce got overshadowed by someone less talented than her, would you?

I didn't come for her talent. She is talented. I just don't think she's as talented as some make her out to be. But I never knocked her singing and dancing. That's obviously where she shines. My biggest areas of criticism have always been her songs and personality.

No, Gaga's dancing is not always the best but that's not her major forte anyway. Her thing is singing, instrumental ability and great songs (although that's always a matter of opinion, of course). Dancing is one of Beyonce's major things, so if we think it's not as good, we have a right to say so.

I'll be happy when artists are having success with good material. If we give them success regardless of the quality, they'll think they can keep on doing it at a sub-par level. 2016 was a new low for music quality. Too many artists are taking the public for a ride and we need to start sending them the message that they need to try harder.

A lot of this is just pure you trying to shove your opinions down our throats. You are using this half proof to try and change our opinion rather than except that we don't share the same opinion as you. We can be fans, and like her, and we can enjoy an album that maybe you don't.
