Lulz dude do you realize it was like 5 drivers? Each Uber driver is technically an independent contractor, I think you're being a little dramatic when you characterize the whole company and every single independent driver, of which there are thousand of and each have their own opinions. 

Plus the hour long ban didn't accomplish anything? 

What did you do, might I ask? Did you donate to the ACLU? IF you're going to criticize these drivers for not giving up their hourly wages which they have to earn every day, I HOPE you yourself personally took the same sacrifice and donated your hard earned money to the cause.

If you want Uber drivers to give up money, how about YOU give up money too by donating to the ACLU yourself if you think this cause is so important?! Now THAT'S hypocritical!

This. Seriously. Uber drivers basically make minimum wage and we have people asking them to not work and effectively give up their money, meanwhile 99% of these boycotters will not even donate to the ACLU/cause either!

I asked and no one responded. 

But couldn't Uber just compensate drivers in the area who were online for that time? 

Like credit them x amount that would have been reasonable for the time they didn't work. 

And avoid this controversy?
