Yo GagaGaga 6,541
I was watching a "Best Selling Singles Since 1990" Video and I noticed a lot of mediocre, or just really bad songs high up on the list. I was so disgusted that I made a thread about it Rihanna- Diamonds: I like some of Rihanna's songs, but why are her worst always the highest charting/most successful. I never understood why this song was popular at all. Its really terrible and generic imo. Definitely Sia's worst song. Ellie Goulding- Love Me Like You Do: The main reason I hate this song's success is because I love some of Ellie's other songs, and I'm annoyed that her worst single (imo) has gotten the most success. The chorus is so generic its just "love me like you do, la la love me like you do". I will never understand the GP's music taste Roar- Katy Perry: I don't hate Katy Perry. I like a lot of Katy songs, but this song is Katy at her worst. This also isn't bc of the Roar Vs Applause thing, I just really don't see why anyone would willingly listen to this song. Its so one dimensional, and has no deeper meaning. Its only purpose for being made was to cash in on a cheesy motivational song with a catchy hook. (And the song it was ripped off from was a lot better) Any Song Ever From Maroon 5: I have a serious hatred for Maroon 5. I think every song they make is generic and cheap, and I find Adam Levine's voice to be so grating that I can't stand listening to any of their songs for more than a few seconds bc I get way too annoyed. Every LMFAO + Chainsmokers Song: Do I need to explain Which songs are you surprised/annoyed by their success?
TSUNAMI 21,012
Diamonds is one of the most perfect songs ever. Others are easy to digest and remember.

Anderson123 38,407
Diamonds is a really good song, in my opinion, but that's just me. It had the success it did because it was Rihanna's post-Loud and We Found Love first single. Rihanna's lead singles are highly expected every year and this one was different from the last two, plus Sia's songwriting abilities made this song relatable to a lot of people and just super radio friendly. This is the only song on your list that didn't bother me to hear on the radio 24/7. Maroon 5's sound post-Moves Like Jagger is what has made a lot of their songs so popular. They make catchy songs on purpose because they know they'd stick. Every LMFAO/Chainsmokers song. Well, these just have that Harlem Shake, Gangnam Style catchy beat and potential to become viral because we're on a streaming dominated world. Roar - This is pretty much obvious. Lead single after having a super successful album campaign, plus the songwriters made this song catchy and "relatable". Another vanilla song for the radio. Seeka 12,372
Diamonds is pretty good in my opinion. Maroon 5 kind of began sucking after the band become "Adam Levine and these other dudes" which started around when he began doing features and worked on the voice. Ellie's Love Me Like You Do and that other song are basically the same thing just different wording. However, Ellie's music, even the most digestible made for punlic consumption stuff, still seems different to me than most. as or Roar, I don't know. But I know only Katy can sing it. No one else can really do it justice, so it really has that going for it. Chainsmokers are catchy. They may be assholes, but they're catchy and give into trends. As for LMFO, when was their last hit? lols. Just listen to the music you want. Stop letting what others like and say affect you.
Hades 27,980
Diamonds is a highly acclaimed song from Rihanna. I mean it's far better than Pour it up or some other singles of hers. I prefer ''Where Have You Been'' but it's still top tier. LMFAO=trash What was Madonna thinking on the Superbowl. Ewww. Roar is too generic and vanilla. I agree. Dark Horse >>>> Love Me Like You Do gained from the movie and all the hype plus it's decent. I like it. Maroon 5 have declined too much. Their first albums were not that generic. Now they use the same old formula and it got tiring.
RAMROD 109,607
Rihanna's song are great, what even? As for Maroon 5, I was only owning their first 3 albums and their best of, didn't follow them after that. Their debit album were really goof, and the sophomore were also good. But Hands All Over is when I started to draw the line. IDC about the rest mentioned. Prism is a terrible album with 3 decent songs in it.
