WHAT THE ACTUAL F*CK QUÉBEC?!

I AM SO DISAPPOINTED AND ASHAMED

THIS IS INTOLERABLE AND BARBARIC. WE ARE LIVING IN CANADA FOR F*CK'S SAKE

QUEBEC IS PERHAPS THE MOST WELCOMING OF ALL, WITH A BIG ARABIC AND/OR MUSLIM DEMOGRAPHICS

QUEBEC CITY IS FURTHER AWAY FROM MONTREAL SURE, BUT NONETHELESS IT HAS A HUGE SENSE OF COMMUNITY.

THE ONLY POSITIVE POINT ABOUT THIS IS THAT, I HOPE, THE THREE GUNMEN GET ARRESTED, AND THAT THERE IS A WAVE OF SUPPORT FOR THE FAMILIES AND THE REST OF THE MUSLIM COMMUNITY OF THE CITY.

IT IS ONE THING TO DISAGREE.

IT IS ONE THING TO PROTECT ONESELF.

BUT IT SHOULD NEVER BLOCK SOMEONE'S FREEDOM AND PEACE.

Born To Slay

I'm kinda disappointed tbh, if this were America, it's still be tragic but it'd be normal. I have standards for Canada.

ummm

elaborate please

whenever there's an attack on a non-white/muslim community the media simply don't care as much as if the victims were white/christians

this is Canada.

This is Quebec.

a liberal country, and a liberal province. we are center-left.

this barbaric act IS in the news right now. it is on the Associated Press twitter, and Reuters.

I lived in Quebec City for nearly 15 years. It's a quiet place that has seen entire years with no murder. I don't think a mass shooting ever happened there either.

This is very sad. I can't believe such a horrible hate crime of this scale just happened there. RIP, to the victims.

Just some quick info about Quebec City:

- It's largely a white city. Sainte-Foy has seen a growing Muslim community in the last 10 years.
- It is a provincial capital (lots of government white collar jobs).
- There is a military base nearby.
- It has voted Conservative for about 15 years, initially it was mostly for economic reasons (less taxes).
- The City is NOT nationalist, at least compared to the rest of the province (except Montreal). Is it the only francophone region that voted NO during the 1995 independence referendum.
- Radio talk shows have a pretty large impact compared to Montreal.
- Lately, radio talk shows start talking more and more about immigration, with some talking heads actively supporting Trump.

Whispering

Tragic, my thoughts go out to all who were involved.

I've been to Quebec City, it was a charming and lovely city.
