Forbes : What Hit Songs Will Lady Gaga Perform At The Super Bowl?

Next Sunday afternoon, Lady Gaga will have the privilege of performing during the Super Bowl halftime show, which only the biggest and most successful acts have been invited to. While she's only been in the spotlight for less than decade, the pop star has plenty of songs from which to choose when it comes to her setlist. So, which of her 18 top 40 hits (and that's to say nothing of all the songs she's ever recorded and released) will she pick? Here are my personal predictions, based on which singles have performed the best when it comes the charts and sales, mixed in with a few guesses.

“Just Dance”

There is no way the pop star will skip over the song that turned her from a wannabe starlet into a bonafide pop icon. “Just Dance” was not only her first hit, it went all the way to No. 1 on the Hot 100 in 2008. The track helped usher in an era of electro-dance-pop, the likes of which had never been heard on top 40 radio before, and it's the type of track that everybody can enjoy.

“Poker Face”

Immediately after “Just Dance” began falling on the singles tally in the U.S., “Poker Face” came storming in and also made it all the way to the top of the charts. The track ended up selling even better than its predecessor, and it is one of two diamond-certified singles she’s been able to rack up in her career. My personal bet is that while Gaga’s debut album The Fame sent four songs into the top 10—the other two were “Paparazzi” and “LoveGame”—she won’t take on all of them, because that would consume too much time. The first two hits are the biggest and most memorable, and I bet they'll both be heard.

“Bad Romance”

She may have burst onto the scene with tracks like “Poker Face” and “Just Dance,” but “Bad Romance” might now be Gaga’s signature song. The dark-pop banger, which is also her bestselling, has now been certified 11-times platinum for sales of over 11 million copies in the U.S. alone. “Romance” showed her becoming more serious as an artist, and it’s still a favorite when it comes to Gaga fans around the world, so this is an absolute must.

“Applause”/“Perfect Illusion”

While it isn’t remembered quite as fondly as some of her other hits, “Applause” actually stands as Lady Gaga’s longest-running top 10 hit of her career. It was the biggest hit from her album ARTPOP, which was met with mixed reviews and fair sales, and if she’s going to perform any one track from that era in her career, I'd venture a guess it’s this one.

Gaga will also likely want to perform one of the more upbeat tracks from her new album Joanne, but none of them are well-known enough to warrant a full play, so she’ll likely work one or two of them into other tracks as medleys. “Applause” might be a fair fit here, as both tracks were hits...but not the most beloved from her catalog.

Pi peaked at #15 and MR has decent sales
