An Iranian film director nominated for an Oscar may be unable to attend the prestigious event after Donald Trump banned nationals from 7 Muslim countries from entering the US.

Asghar Farhadi is nominated for best foreign language film for his movie The Salesman, which is filmed in Iran.

However, President Trump last night announced that nationals from 7 Muslim countries will no longer be issued visas to enter America.

This is NOT fake news.

This is NOT exaggerated news.

These policies have enormous impact on the lives of real people, and we need to talk about each and every single one of them, as much as possible.

There's nothing harder for people to do than admit they were fooled.

The title is exaggerated... Trump did not ban a film maker from attending the oscars, he banned a group of people (wrongfully) and it affected the film maker. The title is intended to get clicks.

We should talk about the bad effects this having on people as much as we can, but not through clickbait headlines.

So... he banned him from the Oscars. Calling things as they are. That's like saying "I didn't kill my girlfriend, I just tickeled her with my knife which came into conflict with her vital functions."

If we can't bring Asghar Farhadi to the Oscars, we must bring the Oscars to Asghar Farhadi. :sis:

It's literally terrifying that people still don't see what is wrong with all of this. Like, history is lowkey repeating itself, except more people are aware of his BS.

This is how all of his new bans and changes will break down into examples and why how he is doing things, just will not work. He is going over everything with a sledgehammer and knows little to nothing of actually how to set limits and set guidelines, closer to how Obama ran the entire system. All of the biggest things have the tiny little things that are embedded and count also. This will happen to Trump throughout his Presidency. Let's see if he gets even the smallest amount of embarrassment early and will calm himself down with his pens.

The future's uncertain and the end is always near.
