I've heard from several family members that are saying the same thing. At least they realize what they did and are talking responsibility for their mistake. I hope they remember this and apply their new knowledge to future elections.

You've never walked a single street or been in a single neighborhood in any city or town in the US. What do you know?

Um :rip: what does that have to do with anything? 'Progress' in a political sense, is relative. Example: I think great progress has been made on gun rights, you most likely think the opposite.

"I am the world's greatest person that does not want to let people into the country."—US President Donald J. Trump

No, we would have gotten someone who wanted to advance human rights and who had a progressive agenda. That was the other choice. Instead we got Trump...because people rejected progressive values, didn't vote or voted for someone who didn't have a shot of beating the monster who now has the nuclear codes in his suit jacket.

Apathy or standing for some imaginary moral high ground is what got you the monster for the next four years...enough time to rip your rights away for decades. In all good conscience, you can say that you didn't do anything to stop Trump from being the leader of the free world.

I'm not trying to have a moral high ground, I'm trying to do what's right. And as I said, even if I voted for Hillary, the outcome would be the same.  If we had Bernie, we wouldn't be in this mess, but the dnc was crooked and wouldn't allow someone GOOD. But I'm not gonna blame them anymore or her or you. I blame Trump and I'm not gonna argue with you anymore. We know we won't agree and I'm tired of fighting and I'm tired of you coming at me. Goodnight

Doing what is right is voting against Trump for a viable candidate, if ones goal was to keep Trump out of the White House.

Bernie wasn't an option because he didn't win the nomination. Bernie wasn't "good" for enough people to get the nomination. He didn't appeal to minorities, and couldn't back up his policies with details and information. He had his own problems, but never was vetted and was handled with kid gloves. If Bernie was so great, he could have come from nowhere like Obama and secured the nomination. He failed to do so.

I didn't consider Bernie to be a "good" choice at all. There are dozens of Democrats I would have wanted over him, but I'll be damned if I wouldn't have put a Bernie sign in my yard, slapped a Bernie sticker on my car and marched down to the my voting location and cast my vote for him...if he would have been the Democratic nominee. Bernie would have been the only person standing between Trump being the next President- the ONLY person!

Right back at you when you were leaving your comments about Hillary for months during the general, and now, when you still don't get that the people didn't want Bernie.

The dnc rigged the primaries because they favoured Hillary lol. I've long since stopped because I'm tired of arguing, which I've mentioned like 30 times in this thread. We both know we won't agree and us taking our anger out on each other is gonna help no one. So please just stop lol

Can you explain how it was rigged? There was a BIAS, yes. Many Democrats wanted Hillary. There was even some cheating going on in the debates. But rigged? Bernie got like 3 million votes less.

I supported Bernie but I don't understand why people keep repeating this. It's totally false, I'm sorry.

All the rigging in the world couldn't give you 3 million votes LESS. The irony is that Trump is arguing the same thing right now against him.

The people voted for Hillary. The Democratic nomination process was the same as it was in 2008. Obama came from an unknown to win the nomination because he had experience and policies with minorities and details to back up his policies. Bernie couldn't do it because he lacked what Obama had. The DNC wasn't rigged in 2008 or in 2016, they went with the person who won the most state delegates.

Pretty much. Obama droned more civilians than Bush ever did.

Including the deliberate murder of American citizens.

i don't like that either, but i can hardly think of a good alternative other than better intelligence before striking or letting them be (i don't think the american public would be ok with that). for me, boots on the ground war is not an option.

but that aside, i would never vote for a republican today because A. they are a climate change denying party (this issue needs much more serious care and attention than it receives now) and B. republicans are for the rich people and you can tell that by their tax initiatives to cut taxes on the rich (imo trickle down economics doesn't work, when companies make money, they for the most part hoard it for themselves). and C. their candidate advocated for nuclear proliferation during his campaign. i mean this last one alone should disqualify you as a candidate because nuclear war would literally destroy the world.

But the Democrats and Republicans are the same, right?

I'm sorry, but, while I will not say that the Dems are the same (because the Republicans are much worse), you are missing the point of the forming revolution if you think the Democratic Party is what this country needs as if it weren't corrupt also. It's time to get an intersectional party such as identity-inclusive socialism.
