I think in a way what he meant was that someone like Emma is so beloved and seemingly a positive celebrity but can also be classified as 'scum' by some peoples standards alongside certain celebrities that are easier to hate. I don't think it was specifically about Emma, I think it was just pointing out how our most popular and loved celebrities can have skeletons in their closet as well.
