Recently I decided to embark on a mashup project in my spare time & wanted to share it with anybody who likes a good Gaga mashup. It's not exactly perfect (illusion) as every time I listen, I find things I want to change. But anyway, each mashup will feature a song from each of her 4 eras (considering TF/M as a combined era) and each part will transition into the next Part 1 stars Perfect Illusion & Applause, featuring Marry the Night and elements of Dance in the Dark. Spoiler Part 2, which I'm working on, will consist of A-YO, MANiCURE, Born This Way and Telephone Thoughts & constructive criticism are welcome!! There's quite a bit of vocal layering in the beginning that seems a bit unpolished. Perhaps eliminate some vocals where it gets a bit heavy or play with the levels maybe? And at the end the tracks seems a tiny bit out of sync because of Marry the night. This is very interesting though and I'm sure since you are going over it more and more and you'll find ways to master this. Just watch where you are placing some things, as some things come in early, or a little too late, also i recommend between pitch changes to have some sort of transition because it seemed a little cut and paste. May I mind asking which program you use? I agree, I struggled w/ integrating Marry The Nights instrumental but the final breakdown just fits so well with perfect illusion i had to try! What I use for my mash-ups is Ableton! I highly recommend it, It generally guesses the BPM of the song and usually gets it right (You can also enter the right BPM if it's wrong) and it also gives you the option to "re-pitch" a song to match the pitch of other tracks so It all flows smoothly! Heres some of my Ableton work for regerence!
