People march for rights and to have their voices heard. It's time for us to wake up and be more vigilant now that we have Trump in office. We cannot let him get away with whatever he wants. We don't get what we want if we stay silent. Some people think marching is a waste of time or energy but do remember that the rights we have today were built behind the backs of people who marched outside in the cold, holding up placards and posters to have their voices heard. I don't like extremists in movements. They are out there. Its a mix of many people, and i wasn't referring to everyone like ik people who are there it can be civil. And i just think we have civil rights and they aren't being taken away. I hope everything can stay contained but no ones rights were going to be taken away so its a bit messy in my opinion. I think the stigma comes from the fact some people don't see a meaning in all the protesting. It's not that they don't support it, its that it seems overblown. Why are you bringing up extremism when we are talking about a women's march? Come on... Being a woman, and supporting women, shouldn't be a "movement". It's a simple matter of who we are. And it's that simple definition that is being threatened. And what do you think civil rights is? It's not just legalizing being a woman or a gay person. It's about the equal representation of people. It's about not having to fear that those groups of people will not be treated any different from "the man". There's still a lot to do when it comes to civil rights. We still have states that are legally given the right to discriminate LGBTQ in the workplace, housing, and as normal human beings. I'd advise you to go to your local college and take some classes in the social sciences. You'll understand that everything that exists to today is a matter of not doing enough yesterday. There's so much crime in how we view our neighbors based on what some "scientist" told the country 50 years ago. Fight stereotypes. Fight intolerance.
