So quotes from hippies trying to suck up saying "jihad could mean ~ANYTHING~" are more reliable than the actual holy book apparently.

Who are the hippies? Did you start with the name calling again? No, it doesn't mean "anything", I told you what it means.

Anyone can quote questionable parts of the Bible, does that justify crusades and present day persecution of Christians? I think not.

You are trying to teach millions of Muslims what is "part of their culture" and what they SHOULD believe, "Qur'an is very clear", when you picked that up from some islamophobic site and you were never actually studying it. Each verse has background and history behind it, each ruling has big amount of sources, not just one quote from English interpretation of the meaning. This is what ignorant terrorists do too - take things out of context (to justify their violence).

Yeah it just looks super fake to begin with, like I knew from the very beginning that this wasn't an old Japanese woman. Then I just felt uncomfortable because I'm listening to this person tell this story thinking "But... You are clearly not that person..." so it felt insincere and inauthentic.

If they had an actual old Japanese woman tell her story it would feel poignant, but the whole time it felt like they had taken the tragic story of  some random woman, who wasn't important to them, and used it to push their own political agenda that this woman may or may not agree with.

Mimicking somebodies race is always a bit of a minefield too, especially when you are telling the story of Japanese internment with a fake Japanese person. It would feel like a video of an old Jewish woman sharing 'personal' horror stories of the Holocaust only for someone to pull a mask off and be like "Hey actually not Jewish, this isn't my story - but I don't want the holocaust to happen to me... So yeah"

It just feels weirdly insensitive to me as well as just completely distracting and bizarre.

Yes! I agree with everything you wrote here.

Katy obviously meant well, but it wasn't executed properly. She paid for prosthetics, so I guess it was her idea? I hope no American Japanese are offended by it.

It reminds me of her Birthday video, but great job I guess, using her voice for something that matters :golfclap:
