One could directly lead to the other sic it isn't false equivalency exactly. Neither is saying trump is reminiscent of Hitler in some regards. So what if it isn't a race? Should anyone be put to camps based on their religion? Should discrimination and persecution based on religion be legal? Jihad doesn't mean "holy war" or terrorism, it can mean many things, from spiritual struggle or fighting back against those who kill and fight you. Killing or attacking innocent people is not part of anyone's culture, there is big political reason why and how some of these groups were created and it has nothing to do with any minority's culture. The Quran is very clear on this subject: "Those who disbelieve smite at their necks till when you have killed and wounded many of them, then bind a bond firmly (on them, i.e. take them as captives)... Yeah it just looks super fake to begin with, like I knew from the very beginning that this wasn't an old Japanese woman. Then I just felt uncomfortable because I'm listening to this person tell this story thinking "But... You are clearly not that person..." so it felt insincere and inauthentic. If they had an actual old Japanese woman tell her story it would feel poignant, but the whole time it felt like they had taken the tragic story of some random woman, who wasn't important to them, and used it to push their own political agenda that this woman may or may not agree with. Mimicking somebodies race is always a bit of a minefield too, especially when you are telling the story of Japanese internment with a fake Japanese person. It would feel like a video of an old Jewish woman sharing 'personal' horror stories of the Holocaust only for someone to pull a mask off and be like "Hey actually not Jewish, this isn't my story - but I don't want the holocaust to happen to me...
