The videos contained the story of Electra: when Marina symbolically kills herself and becomes Electra, explores identities, realizes she's in a state of dreaming (), confronts herself, etc. The music I believed was more of an exploration of the archetypes she frequently discussed. But they both tie into the overall concept of not wanting to become a vapid person. I'm not sure though, that's just based off of what I can remember. I probably could've offered a better explanation a few years ago when I was deeply invested in the album, but I haven't paid a lot of attention to it since. I enjoy Electra Heart (album) more than Cry Baby (it's still flawless, though) but I can admit Melanie's concept was definitely executed more efficiently. When you but it that way I can totally see it in the videos. But like Melanie she should have made a video for every song. Better way to convey the story. But I did understand what Marina was going for musically and it worked. That album is literally a pop masterpiece. The worse thing is that I believe she originally intended on videos for every song but couldn't because her record label couldn't fund it . Like again need I say it was a flawless and underrated pop album? So was FROOT though. Her, Gaga and Melanie have the most creative artistry in the mainstream industry.
