Bette Davis 12,742
How do people still deny that there are consistent country influence and imagery threaded throughout the album? No, it's not a country album, but it's certainly deeply influenced by the genre, so let's stop pretending it's not because it looks delusional. A-Yo, John Wayne, Million Reasons, DIC, Sinner's Prayer, Grigio Girls all have obvious country influences, whether it's in the music itself, imagery, style or lyrics. Even her looks are country influenced.. Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

It's obvious so I don't get why people deny it. Of course the music curators of GGD think otherwise The hardest thing in this world is to live in it
Letmelivemylife 8,715
I think the biggest misconception is that gaga has changed for the worse and isn't into wigs and quirkiness anymore. Gaga will always be quirky. That's just who she is. A green chameleon will always be a green chameleon no matter how many times it changes its colors. I love you monsters. I'd be unfixably broken without you

She was specifically discussing the Super Bowl performance, nothing else. But of course her fans have latched onto it as a convenient way to drag Gaga when she does something they don't like. And then people wonder why she quits using social media.
Lord Temptation 11,209
Joanne is the album Gaga wished Miley Cyrus made. It's very much a country album, but not the type of mainstream commercial country that sells well. It's more indie pop meets country.
Buddy 5,686
-When Gaga goes against everything she once stood for at the beginning of her career, the time she gained us as fans, there's gonna be a problem. It's quite simple -Gaga did rush release an EP, it's called The Fame Monster, and it worked -How do you know she's aware of what fans want - are you Gaga? Her actions this era have given the opposite impression -She doesn't owe pop music to anyone, but don't be surprised if she loses a large portion of her fanbase for being alienating -Diamond Heart, AYO, Joanne, John Wayne, Dancing In Circles, Million Reasons, Sinners Prayer, Angel Down, and Grigio Girls all have heavy country influences
Fanta 5,019
The fact of the matter is Gaga and her team have done a horrible job with her in every aspect relating to Joanne. An artist of her level should not be struggling to maintain relevancy or have a proper hit for years. These excuses from delusional fans annoy me because if she "does whatever she wants" just like how she's sabotaging her career now she won't even be able to put out a snoozefest like the PI video or have extravagant tours. The music industry is not the playground Gaga and some delusional fans want it to badly to be. If you don't manage yourself properly you will fail and will be forgotten period. I disagree with most of what was said.

AYO is 60's era mod-rock. JW is Rock. DIC is lots of things, but no way is it country. Million Reasons is a folk ballad that people are calling country because only country stations play that type of music. Sinners Prayer is Mostly Country. Angel Down is not even close to Country. Grigio Girls is a folk Rock song, not Country.
