Ex-Republican says Obamacare saved his life

The sad part is that stories like this (not necessary the Republican aspect, just regular citizens) are going to become more tragic, just like they used to be. I swear, people don't remember how bad things were when people could be refused for having pre-existing conditions. It's a literal death sentence for thousands of people.

私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

My uncle got denied time after time because of a heart issue he had. No company would give him health insurance. His condition got worse over time. Thankfully he was able to cover some of the costs himself but after an extended period of time it became too much. Sadly he passed away in 2013 and I wonder if he would have lived longer if he would've had his treatments covered for more time and actually didn't have to stress about the cost as much...

That, and it would cause them to lose their homes, their retirement money and any savings they had. They would leave their husband/wife/partners/children with nothing but debt.

Lion Heart

Trump himself has said that he likes that people can no longer be denied health services for pre-existing conditions, and that children can be in their parent's plan until their 26 years old from Obamacare, but Paul Ryan just seems hellbent on repealing the thing with no actual solution. At the CNN townhall he described some of the problems with Obamacare but proposed no actual solution himself. They have no solution.

That's because low-key they(The Republicans) were content with the status quo before Obamacare came along...  :reductive::reductive::reductive:

I can't believe the USA don't have affordable healthcare.

How is that hard to believe?

This is the land of greed.

Money comes before human lives.

US history proves this over and over for us. Let's just take a look back at:

Indentured Servants

Slavery

Native American genocide and removal which led to the expansion of the nation

Horrible working conditions that led to so many workers fighting for their rights in the late 19th/early 20th century

Racial Segregation that created different economic realities based on race

Education costs

US foreign policy heavily influenced by economic interests

EDIT: I'm not saying this country is a horrible place. I have education opportunities and there is a lot of economic prosperiry and this is overall a comfortable country to live in. I love it. But these issues are a reality and the ugly side of Ameican society and corporate America. It seems like we will never get rid of these things.

My grandmother did die from not being able to afford medication, but at the time I was only 12 & didn't know this.  My dad told me all about the details of this last year(as an adult now), and I cried all over once again like she had just died...   😢😢😢

It's okay.  Thank you.  I thought with Obamacare people wouldn't have to so much go through that anymore, but now with the repeal insight.  I guess those days of dying because you can't afford your medication will start to come back now...  SMH!

Hopefully they keep this provision in the plan Republicans come up with. Although their actions last night are terrifying...
