Its amazing that Gaga is/was able to hide her PTSD symptoms

From reading her letter and reading about other people's experiences with the disorder, its incredible that she is able to function normally in public. There is really very little indication that there is something wrong. Its clear she was very anxious during most of her Joanne era interviews. Her body language (fidgeting, rubbing her fingers, legs) is a dead giveaway. But other than that, I have never noticed anything. PTSD is extremely debilitating and its hard for me to wrap my mind around the fact that she has it. How has she never dissociated or had flashbacks in public?

Truthfully, we really know very little about Gaga and this is just another example that proves that.

during TF–TFM–BTW eras, the girl was almost entirely behind the aura; during AP, the human kept peeking out from behind the artist's aura; now, during the JOANNE era, she is naked and vulnerable.

With all the darkness and sadness spilled all over her music and performances I'd say she never hid it. It was quite obvious if one really looked.

She's indeed very strong  But I think she has had A LOT of coping mechanisms, some of which have been destructive (her addiction for example). She's indeed been living behind the aura for so long, as @T E Anne said. She has channelled the pain into her art.

She has, she just has a team to cover her up. She recalled staying in cars for HOURS because she had anxiety attacks back in 2009, until she had calmed down. Not to mention that from 2011-13 she was virtually non-existant on red carpet events.

She is very strong woman.

Depressed but strong is a rare mixture. I am inspired by her personality.

Plus there is such a thing as being mentally ill while also being "highly functional" in society. It's one of the most dangerous things in mental illness because your body literally becomes just a functioning, robotic shell of itself while your mind is shattered into pieces. The fact that she danced full-on choreography and dance routines on a BROKEN HIP for several months is a testament to her mind and body being out of sync.

That's definitely true but im saying its not obvious by the way she acts in interviews and public appearances and such.

When did she say that?

I think it was this era, just some few months ago when she mentioned that back then life wasn't all glorious. If I recall correctly, it was about the time where she talked about being stalked on the beach by paparazzi on that ABC morning show. I think there she also mentioned that she basically almost every day freaked out because of the enormous paparazzi crowds following her, tearing at her physically and had panic attacks because of it.

I think she and SHOWstudio did a short film inspired by it where they installed a go-pro into gaga's outfit to record the frenzy that was happening from inbetween the car to the safe hotel.

EDIT: found the video of it
