And the American people we fundamentally lied to when Obama sold us on it LOL. "You can keep your doctor and your plan if you like them", BULLSH*T HAHAHAHAHAH!!! NO ONE got to keep their plans and the majority of people had to switch doctors. The government should be telling us which doctors we can go to and what private insurance plans we can and cannot buy. No thanks stay out of my way. Can you back the statement I bolded with facts? Because nobody and I mean NOBODY I know was forced to take Obamacare instead of their own Insurance. Also "news flash" companies that offer Insurance to their employees can change the insurance carrier they want at anytime after their contract with the insurance carrier has expired. Many employers change from AvMed to Blue Cross to Humana often. If your doctor is not on one of those plans you would have to find a doctor that accepts the new plan. Every year there is something called open enrollment and you chose the plan that if best for you from the insurance carrier the employer has selected for that year. Don't blame Obamacare for something that has already been built into the way employers offer Insurance. NO ONE got to keep their plans and the majority of people had to switch doctors. The government should be telling us which doctors we can go to and what private insurance plans we can and cannot buy. No thanks stay out of my way. The fact of the matter is that many people have greatly benefited from the ACA. There are growing pains and many are seeing increases (like others do with their private health insurance). Some are seeing large increases and that needs to be addressed. The fact of the matter is that there are millions of young adults who would have been sh!t out of luck if it weren't for Obamacare. Obamacare didn't **** them over, it gave them eight more years to be under their parents' plan. The fact of the matter is that people (or people's children) with cancer, immune disorders, diabetes were not eligible for healthcare and now can take care of themselves or their children. Any insurance company is going to tell you what doctors to go to, unless you want to go out of network and pay way more and not have it applied to your deductible. A government insurance plan is going to be the same. If you don't want to be told which doctors or hospitals to go to, or what medicine to select, don't sign up for insurance...pay cash for everything. What you are wanting doesn't exist (not without paying a **** ton of money each month) and it won't exist again, not under any plan- private or government funded. Even Medicare is rapidly changing. The bottom line is that there are more treatments to keep newborns alive earlier, the sicker alive for longer, the older going longer...and the elderly population is increasing every year. It costs more for insurance because modern medicine has advanced to give more options and more time to the very sickest and the very old. I guess you could pick the die earlier plan for a cheaper amount! Any new program of this magnitude would need to go through years and years, even decades, of changes and updates. That should be expected. I don't know why the government can't just improve upon what already exists, instead of making this fundamental need a bipartisan issue. Call it whatever name you want, but figure out a way to progress forward, without going backwards or without starting over or pausing the coverage. Lives are at risk, after all! And those who get them, don't deserve it How ignorant of you to say something like this.

They even set up an online formular, to make it even easier, but on launch there were a lot of issues. Servers broke down and in some cases the registration wouldn't complete at all. But those issues where fixed pretty quickly. Take a look at Europe, especially in the UK or Germany, where there are two types of health insurance: mandatory, public-owned insurance or privately owned (you need to insure yourself). There are no real differences between the two, privately-owned may be a little less expensive, but quality-wise, both are on the same (high) level. Insurance companies (public and private) will cover most (or all) of the costs for let's say a stay at the hospital and may heavily discount medical products for you. They get payed monthly or yearly and in some countries, your employer will do all the paperwork for you. Apparently, free (or just low cost) healthcare is a thing of socialism and communism to some. I have no idea how anyone could be against mandatory healthcare, I mean, there are no real disadvantages I can't pay thousands of dollars for a trip to a hospital I (and/or my parents) pay insurance for that This also happens in the so-called 3rd world coutries like Argentina. I mean I pay $25 a month and I get all the healthcare I need and I live in a poor godforsaken shithole I hope this is solved somehow and people have access to a basic human right. Kindness rules all. Second, there are many ways to get around to getting them i.e having too many kids. So why work or even improve themselves when they'd get those things with ease anyway? But yes, some of them actually work but the money they earn aren't controlled by the government so they don't get taxed. However, such circumstances to many other states don't exist but I've seen enough here in CA. People who made less than a certain amount don't qualify for Obamacare. That's why President Obama expaned Medicaid. However some governors in certain states decide not to take the Medicaid expansion. You'll have to ask your local government why. Also if you fall below a certain income level the money you get tax is refunded to you. That's why it's called a tax refund. I don't understand what you are upset about. Trump is a billionaire that doesn't pay taxes but your upset that the cleaning lady Maria doesn't pay taxes? That's messed up dude. And who are "these people?" doppelganger 4,021
American healthcare system is so ridiculously expensive , and to deny the disadvantaged their right to decent healthcare is not only criminal but potentially destructive. The idea of the American dream is really just a fallacy, when something as basic as education and healthcare is out of reach. The country is all about consumerism and unsustainable consumption. doppelganger 4,021
By the way, i have been rejected for an insurance policy for a preexisting condition. This really affected my life, and end up costing me so much money. The Silver lining is having access to free public healthcare. The system isn't perfect but i really owe my life to Public healthcare.

That's like twice what my FAMILY pays for My cousin works for an insurance company in D.C. The price of the Silver level in Maryland (which is one level up from bronze) for an individual is $265. Also, there is a low cost catastrophic version available for individuals under thirty. (One step under the bronze level) The most it went up in Maryland was twenty to twenty five percent. The rate did not double.
