Blueskye 1,087 Posted January 10, 2017 Share Posted January 10, 2017 I'm still butt hurt that not long after Gaga could have had a hit with Monster, Ne-Yo/Taio Cruz or one of the other very similar sounding guys also had a song called Monster which seemed a little too familiar and was moderately popular. At least better than GUY.... It's a popular opinion here but I don't agree with it. I don't know what exactly screams "hit" about it, other than the fact it's lyrically safe. I played it for a lot of people and most agreed it was cringey, myself included . Also, Gypsy received more televised performances and promotion overall and it still didn't chart higher than G.U.Y. Also, televised performances where? GUY had a huge budget production, was sent to radio, a lot of buzz when she released it and still did very very poorly.
