The way you talk down to me as if I don't know the meaning behind the word I'm using is disgusting honestly. Hysterical is NOT used as a gender based adjective in normal daily language where I'm from.

My comments above were related to the article Lego linked and I was called 'fvcking blind' for having a different thought on the issue. We'll let that one slide though.

You're right, I did add in the glib about "SJWs", because I thought I remembered you talking about it before; I was mistake. Also, my apologies for sounding condescending as well, it wasn't my intention but I definitely see it now reading it back  

That being said, your comment came off to me as "I don't get involved in these topics because people accuse me of being X and I'm not" based on what you quoted and I wanted to express the very unpopular point of view that the answer to these things is to challenge why this occurs or why other people read into your thoughts and beliefs as being X rather than just shut down conversation and resume living in the dark. Hysterical and Bitchy are both used in sexist ways, which is what lego was pointing out. If you didn't know before, you know now  

To be fair, I get what you mean about having a different opinion, but I also totally understand why people are so emotional about shutting yours down. Not all opinions are innocent, not all opinions are informed, and some opinions have power to hurt people in more serious ways than making people upset on a forum. Not that I condone it, but people don't just get upset at the idea of people having different opinions all of the time, I see very frequently on this forum that its being upset at the quality and effect of the opinion being voiced. It's that those people believe (and possibly rightfully) that your opinion falls into the category of being uninformed and hurtful. 

Like, you say Hysterical is not a gender based adjective in the vernacular of wherever you are from, and to me that says one of two things most likely. 1) I didn't know it was sexist! It's not used the same way here, or 2) It's not used in a sexist way here, and I reject the idea of it being sexist because it isn't used in a blatantly sexist way most of the time.  Based on how someone interprets it, they may take your opinion as uninformed, or even having the effect of invalidating someone else's experiences, so people are likely to get emotional The answer to resolving this dissonance however is still to listen and educate yourself and learn from others so that we can all be more effective, caring and emotionally responsible human beings; not to run because some people seem "mad" that you have a different opinion.

(Also, I think "****ing blind" was referring to possibly the lengths you two were going to ignore the obvious "This is Nepotism. What Donald Trump is doing is technically Nepotism by definition (regardless of if he is punished for it)" that lego posted, not because they were emotional about your "different opinion" or mad that you expressed a different opinion.

I got a bit off center, but yeah.

To be honest I agree with most of what you say. I do think you unfairly clump me together with the 'bitchy' comment as if we are in cahoots or something. I also do know the origin of the word hysterical, but I'd argue that the word has evolved over time with the language and is not used in the same way as it was originated. Plenty of people use the adjective hysterical to describe men who are emotionally outraged.. It's also commonly used to describe something hilariously funny, which is hugely different than the origin of the word.

If I really happened to offend anyone by using this word, then I apologize. 

As far as running because I'm 'mad', that's not so much the case as it is that it is tiring to be labeled something completely off topic when the point I was trying to make goes largely unnoticed or untouched. I ignored the part of what Trump doing being Nepotism, because in the end it doesn't matter. We know Trump is not the ideal PotUS, but if what he is doing is found to be illegal he won't get away with hiring his son-in-law. Blame the way the law was written if he ends up being able to, but I don't think getting outraged about something like this is worth the emotional effort and anger it causes some users.

As much as many of us hate it, we have to live with him as the president and as far as I'm concerned, we should try to focus more on positives that could possibly come in the next four years than the negatives. It just seems to be pretty unhealthy to constantly live in a state of negativity that I see fairly often on these forums.

Can we stop to imagine the reaction that would have occurred if Hillary would have won and Chelsea's husband had been named Senior Adviser? The GOP would have exploded, and would have appointed ten special committees to investigate. 

There are legitimate reasons why this is an extremely questionable move and why there are rules and guidelines on nepotism, especially at this level in the government.
