We do have an actual answer though, because Gaga spoke about Ginger Spice being her favourite Spice Girl when she met Gaga backstage at the Monster Ball! ooo 407 Posted January 9, 2017 Share Posted January 9, 2017 the song is about her close girlfriends and how they are dealing with their close friend sonja having cancer. so it seems obvious that she is referring to her close girlfriends. ashley is one of them. edit: i have seen ig posts of ashley and i'm pretty sure (i could sill be wrong tho) that the woman in that hugs gaga in the documentary episode of a million reasons is ashley.
