Werk 13,166
Sorry if wrong section but can someone please share an example with me of a Four on the floor sound? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Four_on_the_floor_(music)
HOTNebraskaGuy 19,547
It's when you're playing twister and have your hands and feet on the floor but you feel stretched so you let out that "oaaah" sound One, five, ten lay a million on me
DiamondAngel 5,044
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the chorus of Venus is a good example of this? Edit: or the the verses in aura, especially the first four beats of the song before the songs "starts." Other users please correct me if I'm mistaken
Harry 26,836
A four on the floor beat is just the kick drum (i.e. the "heavy"/boom sounding drum) hitting on every beat in the bar. So if you listen to pretty much any pop song and clap along and that kic kdrum is coming in, then it's four on the floor. It's pretty common in dance music. It's quite convenient since this is a Gaga site since many of her hits have it. Just Dance, Poker Face, LoveGame, Bad Romance, Telephone, Born This Way, Judas and soooo many others have it. The beat after the first Chorus of Highway Unicorn is also a good example ⟡ ⋆ ˚。⋆🦢⋆ ˚。⋆⟡

Baduizm 551
listen to the drums. you can stomp your feet to 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4. When it's cut down it's basically the kick drum doing 4 quarter notes in a bar and the snare hitting on 2 & 4. Obviously there are variations on this too

It's pretty common now!

giskardsb 12,565
its just a bass drum on every beat in 4/4 time. Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom. my one complaint about the BTW album is that the 4 on the floor gets exhausting and monotonous.
