What I would change about the ARTPOP era...

I've thought of sth similar too!:trollga:

So, in my perfect world, the era would have gone like this:

Gaga would have announced a short ARTPOP film, including 3 tracks from the album which she thought represented the most ARTPOP. So these songs would have (obviously) been Aura, Venus & G.U.Y. She would release the short film (with killer! visuals :trollga:) on youtube, but would not release the songs on itunes or send them to radios, because she would use the tagline #MusicNotTheBling :stalkga:, to show that this was not about commercial success, but to show the world what ARTPOP is about. She would also perform a medley of the three songs on the VMAs with the short film's visuals. This way a lot of buzz and anticipation would have been formed around the album, and Gaga would have also had the chance to express her creativity without comprimising commercial success.

After this, she announces Applause as the first official (commercial) single. The song is sent to radios, and a video is dropped right after. She also gives a amazing performance of the song at the AMAs (instead of the VMAs :trollga:), so all in all, Applause becomes a top3-top5 hit (basically what actually happened in 2013). During the Applause "era" the album drops, and it (at least/hopefully) manages to sell 400k copies its first week!

After that, in January, Gaga announces Do What You Want feat. Christina as the second single. Obviously the song becomes a hit (at least as big as Applause).

So after a ICONIQUE short film and VMAs performance :queenga:, a successful lead single, a pretty successful album, and a successful 2nd single, Gaga decides to close the era with the 3rd and final commercial single off of ARTPOP, Gypsy. The song is sent to radios and a video is also dropped. Gaga performs it in several events, and it becomes a hit (just like TEOG :diane:)

-end of ARTPOP era-

Not because of the drug references you dinguses! Like I'd give a sh.it about a drug reference. Because of the feel of the song and the genre. I still included it in my imaginary alternate tracklist anyway :laughga:

I don't understand the Drama, it wasn't perfect but is was good anyway, the problem was that it came after the masterpiece that born this way was...

so it was a little bit a degrade in term of lyrics and sound:giggle:

The instrumental is like psychedelic trap fusion, psychedelia being a central theme musically and conceptually of ARTPOP.

And ARTPOP is exactly about excess and unpredictability--it sticking out like a sore thumb actually lends to how "weird" the album was supposed to be. DWUW was also the most RnB of all the album tracks (arguably the only one even), does it mean it shouldn't be there as well?

Don't talk to me or my jewels ever again!!

:poot: that's just my 5 cents. You have a right to your wrong opinion :poot:

that theremin in MANiCURE tho...

Can I just say that I was so excited to hear that she'd used a theremin of all instruments on ARTPOP! That theremin gives me life every time I listen to MANiCURE. It makes the song!

"gives me life", so on point!

I remember I used to play the instrumental to some friends trying to figure out what that thing was called, but they hardly even noticed it :p  Later I found out it was an actual instrument.

My old flatmate's mum had a theremin and brought it over for us to try out. We had it for about a week in the house and every now and again you'd just hear these eerie screeches lol. It's the strangest instrument to try and play. You don't even touch it, just move your two hands around.
