"Yes honey, Will and Grace will in fact be returning to NBC in 2017. According to Leslie Jordan who portrayed Beverly Leslie, nemesis to Karen Walker on the sitcom, the actor stated in a December 22nd interview with KPBS, a local NPR affiliate out of San Diego that NBC has ordered ten brand new episodes of the show, you can listen to the interview here, the announcement comes around the five minute mark. All the actors and actresses will be returning for this exciting new reboot, including Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes, and Megan Mullally. The cast recently got together for a very short, ten minute episode that was posted to social media in support of Hillary Clinton's campaign. The election video posted by Vote Honey has well over six million views, and was the first time the cast had reprised their roles. It's hard to believe it's been ten years since Will and Grace came to an end on NBC, but we are excited to see what the revival has in store for us. I vaguely remember the series finale, so I find myself wondering how this revival will work. I think it's time for a refresher course on all things Will and Grace."

I believe this is one of the things that was good in the past and kind of needs to stay in the past.

Unless the characters (mostly Jack) have shown some development, it's going to be accused of being based and built upon stereotypes.

Comedy has evolved. There's only so much nostalgia factor can get you before it runs out of steam.

it would be great to see Jack in an emotional episode dedicated to the Pulse victims or something, you know maybe an episode that has a more serious undertone. I hope Karen is just as cooky

ugh kinda too late.. it was right at that time but now? the gay characters on tv evolved so much that it became less and less stereotypical.. like they don't even coming out as gays, you just understand when you see them f-cking with someone on the first 10 minutes on the 1st episode..

So sploosh your juice all over me you Riverboy

I think it's time to bring back more "stereotypical" and feminine gays to TV if I'm honest because yes some gay people aren't like that of course but I feel like gay characters are made for straight audiences too much now, I mean they had Nick Jonas play a gay guy who's masc and ends up having sex with a girl in one show I mean come on...

I just honestly think it'd be better if they created something entirely new instead of reviving an old sitcom.

There is a fence that has to be walked now.

On one side, we have old fans, who know and want what they know. These people are bound to be older, however, there are some younger generational fans.

Then on the other side, we have the new general audience who has never seen the show. While mostly made up of the younger generation, there are probably now older people who want to watch it because they have changed their views.

It's a fine line. The creators cannot leaned to far either way without losing support.

Leaning towards have very similar characters (jack was still a twink obsessed with ****, no matter how much development he had) will end up appeasing old fans, but will chase away the new audience. Not to mention it may even chase away old fans who wanted to see modern incorporation of the new LGBT community. Leaning towards the more broad audience may turn off the old fans who wanted and expected the character to be in stasis.

i honestly think it's going to hard for them to really capture that old magic. I'm going to watch, but my hopes are set really low.

Scream Queens is a parody series, and the character he played was pretending to gay, so all those points are invalid.

And no, I prefer regular gays. I want more gays playing videogames. Being geeks. Gays with no sense of fashion. Gays fishing. I like campy gays, but only in small doses.

This is coming from a really fashionable, crossdressing gay.

Will and Grace was halarious, and an important factor in the normalization of homosexuality in our culture.

I also can't wait for NBC to air a trigger warning before every episode in response to the inevitable twitter outrage which will compare Jack McFarland's character to black face.

You won't get that with W&G, sorry. They don't have to change anything, they need to rely on nostalgia.
