Naor Daniel 937
I really wonder how Gaga dropped so hard from over 1M first week sales to only 270k? I wasn't looking at everything she had done back then so I would consider 2012 me as "gp" Born This Way was a huge and successful album. Born This Way, Judas, The Edge of Glory and to lesser extent You & I. The tour was obviously HUGE and by far more successful than TFM ball (don't believe me? look at the stats) And in general it was a really great album. So why did the follow up flop so bad? Why did her sales drop so sharply? A follow up to a successful album should have at least 500k first week sales. What happened? Joanne as a follow up to ARTPOP only saw minor decrease in sales (270k->200k) in times when sales are weak.

JupiterDrive 2,788
Because the kind of music she made was already dated in 2013 plus she took a break and new artists arrived in that year that took her spotlight also troy left her and her team of yes sayers was just trash
Xoxo Adriana 15,040
I personally think ARTPOP was a reductive copy of Born This Way Spoiler Queen of copying nothing but her own works of art

I bet no one knew what they were going to buy when they bought BTW they just figured out it's another great album by Gaga (TFM generated hits)
AURA 2,890
Judas was the start of the decline, however it was mostly Gaga's atitude and messy promo that fked up ARTPOP.
ShockPop 7,747
She was in a unique position. Overexposed. Forgotten about. A strange place to be. Factor in that she'd gone from you & I, teog and btw, deep songs with a soul and a purpose all the way to.... applause. A song with zero relatability, a metaphor for being an attention seeker and visual throughout ARTPOP that was very off putting. Weird for the sake of it. Promo for ARTPOP prerelease wasn't as huge as btw but it was fine. She attempted to regress artistically and everyone noticed.
baptism 2,670
First of all ARTPOP didn't flop and given how sketchy/truly atrocious the promo for the album was and how terribly the era was managed I would go as far as to say that Born This Way is actually one of the only reasons ARTPOP didn't flop. How was Judas ever a decline though? It was a huge hit and the MV was truly epic. Everyone knows this song.

I'm not trying to troll it's just a fact that everyone I know loved the song back then and would bop to it today as well

I love the song and the video is my favorite of hers though. BTW where are you from? because it was a hit in many Europe contries but a major flop in US. Maybe they sold more but judas is more well known and remembered.
